Scouting Report
A lean 6-foot-0, 165 pounds frame. Ran a 7.50 in the 60 yard dash. Offensively- Stands in the box in a wide base. Short load, slight arm bar before attacking the hitting zone. Has a flat barrel through the hitting zone. Showed consistent hard contact. Good use of lower half. Top exit velocity 87 MPH. Defensively- as a catcher, sits in a low wide base. Presents a big target for the pitcher. Shows quick active footwork behind the dish. Has a quick release. Top throwing velocity 72 MPH. Pop time ranged from 2.12-2.22.
Lean frame with slope to shoulders and room for additional strength. 5-foot-10, 150-pounds. Offensively – Wide set-up with feet square to pitcher and slight knee bend. Hands pull back after toe tap stride. Slight arm bar with bottom hand at landing but still manages to keep hands inside of the ball. Shows quality feel for the barrel and consistently generated hard contact during BP. Balanced finish. Defensively – Compact target with low hips while crouched. Receives ball out in front. Clean footwork coming out of crouch and getting into throws. High exchange with short, compact arm action. Over the top release that projects to add more arm strength in the future.
Quinlan is a 5’10” 150 lb C/OF that ran a 4.8 home-to-first. Offensively: He stands in a balanced stance with his legs crouched and his back elbow down. As the pitchers delivers he gets into a good hitting position and takes a small stride. He could generate more power with more use of his lower half and he recorded a 70 MPH exit velo. Finishes with one hand on the bat. Defensively: He recorded a pop time between 2.39 and 2.42
