Prep Baseball Report Minnesota's Top Prospect event took place at the University of St. Thomas and the Vadnais Sports Center in Vadnais Heights, MN. The event featured over 110 prospects from the 2016 class who showcased their talents in front of our scouting staff and over 50 college coaches and professional scouts.

A huge thank-you to Head Coach Chris Olean at the University of St. Thomas along with the staff at the Vadnais Sports Center for being so accommodating and assisting with the event.

This event, which has been a staple in our other PBR states, was created to help launch current juniors into the recruiting spotlight. With the unveiling of Prep Baseball Report Minnesota in June of 2014; we will continue to add events into our schedule to give Minnesota players the best exposure and opportunities to attend college and continue playing baseball.

MN TOP PROSPECT EVALUATIONS (listed Alphabetically)

Shannon Ahern, LHP/OF, Academy of Holy Angels, 2016
5-foot-10, 155-pound 2-way player who ran a 7.35 60. Spray hitter with solid contact who uses the whole field. Level line drive swing plane with 85 mph exit velocity off tee. Loose body with actions in outfield. Short arm action with decent carry and above average accuracy. 86 mph arm strength from outfield. Upside on mound with pitchability. Throws 79-81 mph topping out at 83 mph. FB shows arm-side sink. Back-foot breaking ball to RHH is a plus pitch. Stays around the zone; attacks hitters; and should contribute immediately at college level.

Jeff Athey, 1B/3B, Eden Prairie, 2016
6-foot-3, 220-pound left-handed hitter. Athey, a U. of Nebraska commit, ran a 7.65 60. 72 mph arm strength across the diamond with usable hands and feet around the bag at first. Physical hitter with strength. Creates lift in swing and flashes power to pull-side of field. 89 mph exit velocity off tee.

Dylan Bergstad, OF/RHP, Farmington, 2016
5-foot-10, 167-pound 2-way player. Ran a 7.18 60. Solid body with average actions in outfield. 85 mph arm strength with pie arm action. Shows plus accuracy on throws that are online to target. Dives across at times at plate. Long stride with slashy line drive swing plane and short finish. Works middle-away with solid contact. Threw 76-79 mph topping out at 80 mph. Short leg swing and falls down mound in delivery. Curveball was 66-69 mph and thrown for strikes.

Austin Brandecker, RHP, South St. Paul, 2016
6-foot-3, 190-pound right-handed pitcher. Projectable body on mound. Multi-sport athete. Physical. Over-the-top slot. Fastball is straight at 77-80 mph. Loses arm speed on breaking ball at 62-65 mph. Follow with clean arm action and has projection physically.

Dylan Brend, RHP, Eastview, 2016
6-foot-4, 195-pound right-handed pitcher. Projectable body on mound. Has loose arm and athletic actions. Fastball was downhill at 81-85 mph. Curveball was 67-70 mph. Recoil and some funk on release. Once he cleans up stride and release; command will improve. Projects well and will be followed closely through the Fall.

Brendan Broady, RHP, Wayzata, 2016
6-foot-5, 185-pound right-handed pitcher. Tall lean projectable frame. Collapse at balance point. Strides across body in delivery. Arm is stiff on back-side and becomes more free and loose out front. Fastball was 77-79 mph; topping out at 80 mph. Curveball has 11/5 shape with gradual break at 64-67 mph. Changeup is thrown with stiff wrist; loses arm speed; but shows solid command at 64-67 mph.

Nolan Burchill, RHP, Sioux Falls Lincoln (SD), 2016
6-foot-2, 180-pound right-handed pitcher. Solid build with stronger lower half. Short balance point with hitchy front leg. Lands open slightly open with solid direction to plate. Upright finish on release. High ¾ arm slot with short arm action. Throws all 2-seam fastballs. Fastball has life with running action. Curveball has sharp sweeping action with 11/5 shape at 70-73 mph. Slider is 76-78 mph with short late break. Changeup is usable; slows down arm slightly. Has ok feel for all pitches in and around zone. 

Michael Busch, SS, Simley, 2016
5-foot-11, 188-pound left-handed hitting middle infielder. Solid- athletic frame.  Ran a 6.93 60 at the event. Busch’s athleticism and bat has placed him among the elite players in MN 2016 class. Quiet actions in box. Busch shows upper echelon bat speed and drives baseballs with authority. Long through the zone and stays on pitches well to middle-pull side of field. 96 mph exit velocity off tee. Explosive defensively and shows above average range; feet are quick; glove is soft; with short clean exchanges. Currently rehabbing throwing shoulder and did not make throws at the event.

Isaac Collins, SS, Maple Grove, 2016
5-foot-9, 175-pound switch-hitting middle infielder. Athletic player who ran a 6.94 60 at the event. Shows plus range in field with ability to get to a lot of balls other players can’t. Has quickness to game and glove is solid in the middle infield. Has accuracy with above average arm strength- 85 mph. Has rhythm in swing from both sides and flashes ability to drive ball to gaps. 87 mph exit velocity off tee.

Travis Conoryea, C, Simley, 2016
5-foot-6, 170-pound catcher. Ran a 7.76 60. Small build. Flat line drive swing plane with 74 mph exit velocity off tee. Swing is simple and repeatable. Spray hitter who uses middle of field. Recently moved behind the dish. Works hard at position. Blocks well and plays with energy. Needs to improve arm strength with regular long toss program. Exchanges are clean and has accuracy to bag. 67 mph arm strength with a 2.31 pop time. Is versatile and also plays 2B as well.

Trevor Divinski, RHP, Eden Prairie, 2016
6-foot-2, 200-pound right-handed pitcher. Working his way back to 100%. Divinski is an intriguing arm that will be followed closely through the summer. High ¾ slot with plus arm-side run. Arm is clean and easy. Fastball shows downhill plane for strikes. Shows 3-pitch feel. Fastball was 82-86 mph; Curveball was thrown for strikes at 70-72 mph; and changeup was 74-75 mph.

Tyler Eckberg, SS/RHP, Edina, 2016
6-foot-4, 185-pound 2-way player. Eckberg is projectable and will contribute as a “true” 2-way player at the college level. Ran a 7.53 60. Shows usable hands and has active feet in field. Arm is accurate and strong across the diamond at 88 mph. Some stiffness to swing; but drove some of the hardest balls at the event. Short finish after contact. 84-86 mph on mound topping out at 87 mph. Shows fastball command and ability to pound strike zone. Curveball and slider put him towards the top of the 2016 class. Excellent feel for secondary with upper echelon spin, depth, and sharp break.

Mark Ehresman, RHP/OF, Eden Prairie, 2016
6-foot-1, 195-pound 2-way player. Ran a 7.53 60. 87 mph exit velocity off tee. Deep load with high leg kick trigger. Swoops to contact. Makes hard contact to middle-pull side of field. Inconsistent timing at plate. Shows some athleticism in outfield with above average arm. Throws are online with plus carry at 89 mph. Was 82-85 mph on mound; topping out at 87 mph. Fastball has quality run and sink. Slider was 73-75 and changeup was 74-75 with average command. Live arm that projects as a pitcher at college level.

Henry Eilen, OF, Eau Claire Memorial (WI), 2016
6-foot-4, 180-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. 7.07 runner at this event. Shows above average bat speed with leverage. Short to contact and stays long through zone. Gap to gap approach with 89 mph exit velocity off tee. Has some rawness defensively but moves athletically in outfield and had events best arm strength at 91 mph. Arm is fast with plus accuracy and throws were online. A name that continues to pop up in conversation with many college coaches across the Midwest.

Carter Elliott, 3B/RHP, Hudson (WI), 2016
6-foot-2, 180-pound 2-way player. 7.5 60. Shows energy at third base with bigger body. Glove is clean. Long release at times. Throws are online and accurate at 81 mph across diamond. Has some looseness in swing and uses hands well. Creates bat speed through zone. Active load effects timing/trigger. 82-84 mph fastball; topping out at 85 mph. Is able to play catch with glove and command fastball. Some effort in delivery. Lacks arm speed on breaking ball at 65-66 mph. Bat is best tool with improving feel and actions at 3B. Follow in the 2016 class.

Max Elofson, OF/1B, Minneapolis Washburn, 2016
6-foot-1, 175-pound utility player. 7.25 runner. Active load in swing. Drops hands in slot. Inconsistent timing to initiate swing. Shows ability to get on top. Smooth path. Gap to gap approach. 82 mph exit velocity. Loose fluid actions in OF. Good feet. Projectable athletic frame. Throws have cut action and ok accuracy to target. 74 mph arm strength. At first base shows soft glove and good feet with ability to move around the bag. 70 mph arm strength across diamond.

Nick Emanuel, C, Esko, 2016
6-foot-2, 180-pound left-handed hitting catcher. Plus athletic frame. Emanuel was banged up at this event with a pulled hamstring; but his showing throughout the summer have pushed him up the board in the eyes of recruiters. 2.03 pop time with athletic actions. Mis-handled a couple exchanges but the feet and hands are above average. Shows ability to receive. 78 mph arm strength behind the dish with good accuracy to bag. Loses some leverage at plate with soft back-side in swng; but produces 93 mph exit velocity off the tee. Raw in some area’s of his game; but possesses high upside.

Hunter Even, RHP/3B, Chanhassen, 2016
6-foot, 180-pound 2-way player.  7.44 runner. Solid tempo in delivery. Controlled balance point with good direction to plate. Arm is quick and clean from ¾ slot. Fastball has life and throws strikes repeatedly. Plus run on 2-seam to inner half of plate. Fastball was 83-86 mph. Curveball and slider were some of the better breaking balls at event. CB was close to 12/6 shape with depth and tight rotation. Slider had cutter type action with short late break in zone. Changeup was firm at 78-80 mph. Offensively has quiet actions. Hovers in load. Some length to swing. Good hand-eye coordination with solid contact to the gaps. 81 mph exit velocity off tee. Shows a soft glove in the field with decent actions/feet. Above average body control on slow roller. Accuracte throws across diamond at 77 mph.

Levi Falck, SS/OF, Centennial, 2016
6-foot-2, 195-pound versatile player. Solid framed player. Ran a 6.76 60. Slightly inverted swing plane. Solid contact with gap to gap approach. Showed bat speed and power to pull side of field. 87 mph exit velocity. Shows solid actions in outfield and infield. Projects more at 3B in infield. Arm is clean and loose from lower ¾ arm slot. Threw 87 mph from OF and 80 mph across diamond. Some tail/sink action on throws effecting accuracy. Has above average tool-set across the board and is a physical player. High Follow through the summer and into the Fall.

Kevin Fanning, C/OF, Blaine, 2016
5-foot-11, 170-pound catcher/outfielder. Ran a 7.28 60. Inverted swing plane with uphill path. Makes solid contact with gap to gap approach. 81 mph exit velocity. Appropriate actions in outfield with usable feet and glove. Stiff arm action in the outfield with playable arm strength and accuracy. 79 mph arm strength. Length to exchange with long release on throws to second. 67 mph arm strength with 2.31 pop time.

Alex Farley, 1B, Anoka, 2016
6-foot-3, 215-pound left-handed hitting first baseman.  7.52 60 time. Simple swing mechanics. Flashes huge power potential to pull-side of field. Dives into baseball at contact. Jams himself up at times. Physical player with present strength. 94 mph exit velocity off tee. Usable feet and glove around first base. Makes routine plays and has ability to start/finish double play. Arm plays at 79 mph across infield.

Alex Fedje-Johnson, SS/OF, Minnehaha Academy, 2016
6-foot-1, 185-pound right-handed hitting shortstop with lean athletic build. 6.94 runner at this event. Fedje-Johnson has continued to make improvements every time we have seen him. Simply hits. Gap to gap approach. Short to contact and squares up baseball. Loud contact. Flashes of power to pull side of field. 84 mph exit velocity off tee. Plays with energy and is light on his feet. Above average actions in field with soft glove. Throws have an enormous amount of carry with solid accuracy across the diamond. Good balance and body control. 82 mph arm strength across infield.

Kyle Ferderer, 3B/RHP, Burnsville, 2016
5-foot-11, 180-pound 2-way player. 7.53 60. Quiet actions in box with line drive swing plane. Solid approach and uses middle of field. 82 mph exit velocity off tee. Above average defender at third base with an 84 mph arm with accuracy. Soft hands and works down to up on groundballs. 84-86 mph on mound with fastball command to both sides of plate. Breaking ball, at 74-77 mph, is one of the best in the state. Extreme late break with 10/4 shape. Bigger upside on mound currently; with ability to be a 2-way player depending on which level of college baseball he pursues.

Steven Fitzsimmons, OF, Robbinsdale Cooper, 2016
6-foot, 175-pound left-handed hitting outfielder. Athletic framed outfielder who shows loose hands and ability at plate. Mid-pull approach with balance. Aggressive swings. Some length to contact. Good energy in outfield with above average actions. Arm is free and clean producing 82 mph throws with above average accuracy and carry. Lean build that will continue to fill out and develop. High ceiling player that will continue to receive significant D1 interest.

Mitch Frederick, 2B, Lakeville North, 2016
6-foot, 165-pound left-handed hitting middle infielder. 7.28 runner. Lanky build. Quick transfer and release on throws. Moves well with energy and good direction. Has quality rhythm at position. 73 mph arm strength across diamond. Line drive swing plane. Stays inside ball well and shows ability to use oppo gap. Flashed some pop to pull-side of field. Very “hitterish”. Finds holes and will spray ball around field. 82 mph exit velocity off tee.

Nolan Friedrichs, 1B/RHP, Edina, 2016
6-foot-3, 215-pound 2-way player. 7.43 runner. Middle-away approach at plate. Stays inside baseball and shows flashes of pop to oppo gap. Short through the zone after contact. 84 mph exit velocity. Usable glove and feet at first base. Throws are accurate and have carry. Solid actions around bag receiving throws. Simple up-tempo delivery on mound. 2-piece arm action from OT slot. Lands open and falls to first base side in delivery. Some effort in delivery. Fastball was 79-80 mph; topping out at 82 mph. Breaking ball was 68-70 mph and changeup was 72-73 mph.

Zachary Fuecker, OF, Sauk Rapids Rice, 2016
6-foot, 180-pound left-handed hitting outfielder. Solid athletic build. Ran a 7.03 60. Stays on backside in swing creating lift. Underneath at contact. Uses whole field. Some stiffness to swing with ability to make solid contact. 71 mph exit velocity. Above average fielder with average arm. Long 1-piece arm action. Throws are accurate; lack carry at 77 mph from OT slot. Has interesting ability; will continue to develop and benefit with instruction.

Griffin Fussy, SS/RHP, Blaine, 2016
5-foot-11, 175-pound 2-way player. Ok balance in box. Cuts off swing at times. Inside/out swing plane with average power to the gaps. 83 mph exit velocity off tee. Fields tall. Glove is usable. Average feet and hands. Solid accuracy with carry across diamond. 83 mph arm strength across. Higher controlled balance point on mound. Some drop and drive tendencies. Has good direction to plate. Short arm action from OT slot. Fastball shows solid life with varying run and cut at 79-82 mph. Curveball has 11/5 shape with depth and occasional sharp break at 68-70 mph. Changeup is firm at 74-77 with average fade at bottom of zone.

Dylan Gasner, C, Austin, 2016
5-foot-10, 155-pound switch-hitting catcher. 7.66 runner. Simple swing creating lift. Uses middle of field with flashes of pop to pull side. Good separation after contact. Creates bat speed. 84 mph exit velocity off tee. Good body control and balance behind dish. Feet and glove work well. Exchanges are clean and throws are accurate to bag. Quick actions with ability to block baseball. 74 mph arm strength with 2.15 pop time. Continues to develop physically and has pushed himself towards the top of the best catchers in the MN 2016 class.

Sam Goodman, LHP, Champlin Park, 2016
6-foot-3, 210-pound left-handed pitcher. Goodman projects physically on the mound with a fast arm. Once he settles in mechanically and cleans up arm stroke; has chance to make waves. Flashes above average life on fastball with varying cut and sink. Breaking ball has tight rotation and sharp break. Pushes changeup at times. Raw mechanically and is in/around zone for most part. Flashes high-end tools and needs to continue to develop consistency.

Isaac Grooms, 3B/RHP, West Lutheran, 2016
6-foot-1, 175-pound 2-way player. Ran a 8.13 60. 77 mph arm strength across the infield. Fields out front. Shows soft hands. Stuggles with exchange and footwork at times. High leg kick with long stride and base. Low hand-set with lift in swing. 78 mph exit velocity. Clean 2 piece arm action from OT slot. Minimal effort in delivery. Lands slightly closed with good direction to plate. 75-78 mph fastball for strikes. Curveball was 69-71 mph.

Mason Hall, 3B/C, Eastview, 2016
5-foot-11, 200-pound corner player. 8.38 runner. Front heel turn trigger with pull approach. Has some strength in bat and hit balls with authority to pull side. Rotational hitter. 83 mph exit velocity off tee. Stands up in crouch. Arm is clean and feet are sound for size. Quicker release. Inconsistent accuracy to bag with 72 mph arm strength and pop time of 2.19.

Andrew Hanbury, RHP, Shakopee, 2016
6-foot-2, 190-pound right-handed pitcher. Bigger body with room for additional strength. Crouched at balance point with short arm circle. Lands across body and closed to plate. Fastball was straight at 77-80 mph. Slowed arm on curveball at 63-65 mph. Slider showed better action at 72-73 mph. Changeup was best secondary offering with above average deception and fade at 71-74 mph.

Dan Hansen, 3B/RHP, Park Center, 2016
6-foot-4, 190-pound 2-way player. 7.56 runner. Avg./ok hands at plate. Solid contact gap to gap. Some pop in bat. Doubles power. Mixed in line drives to oppo gap. 81 mph exit velocity off tee. Active feet with soft hands in the field. ¾ slot and makes quality plays at third base. Accurate throws at 83 mph across infield. Physical presence on mound. Rocks into balance point. Front foot leaks outside knee but has coordination to keep everything in-line and directional to plate. Short high ¾ arm action and is upright on release. Fastball shows 2-seam life and has above average command to glove side of plate at 82-85 mph. Slider has 10/4 shape with short  sweeping break in zone for strikes at 70-73 mph. Flies open at times on changeup leaving pitch arm-side and flat.

Nick Hanson, RHP, Prior Lake, 2016
6-foot-5, 205-pound right-handed pitcher. Hanson, a U. of Kentucky commit, has pushed himself up to being one of the PBR area’s top arms for 2016. Projectable body that will continue to add strength and size. Fastball has boring action and gets on hitters quick with downhill plane. Fastball was 87-90 mph. Curveball is loose at times but flashes tight rotation and developing feel for pitch at 75-79 mph. Carved through line-up in brief outing at this event.

Charley Hesse, SS, Henry Sibley, 2016
5-foot-10, 160-pound middle infielder. 7.62 runner. Lean build. Hesse is a spray hitter who uses the entire field with solid contact and average pop in bat. Low hand-set and swings up/through ball. 82 mph exit velocity. Arm is clean from ¾ slot with accuracy to bag. Some sink on throws at 83 mph. Glove is soft and has solid range and actions to both sides with body control on slow roller. Will continue to develop as player with added strength gains and speed improvement.

Alex Holets, MIF, Rochester Century, 2016
5-foot-10, 160-pound switch-hitting middle infielder. Athletic infielder who plays with energy and has bounce. Showed well at this event from both sides of the plate with good balance, solid bat path, and consistently hit hard line drives to pull side of field. 83 mph exit velocity. Clean arm action with accuracy to bag. Transfers ball well to throwing hand and has good feet. Has made improvements and continues to make strides as a player since we first saw him in January 2015.

Sebastian Holte-Mancera, C/IF, Woodbury, 2016
5-foot-9, 210-pound left-handed hitting catcher. 7.82 runner. Shows hitting ability with quiet actions in box. Consistently on time. Plus balance. Solid contact with gap to gap approach. 82 mph exit velocity. 78 mph arm strength across infield with limited carry. Average actions and feet. Makes routine plays. Solid receiver and blocker. Exchange is clean. Throws uphill to second base. Good direction with feet. 2.12 pop time with 71 mph arm strength.

Patrick Huisman, 3B, Ely Memorial, 2016
5-foot-10, 170-pound infielder. 7.58 runner at this event. Quick hands. Inverted swing plane. Narrow base. Spins off at contact occasionally. Has balance in swing and flashes pop to pull side of field. 82 mph exit velocity. Shows solid feet and hands at third base. Short clean arm action with carry. 80 mph arm strength across. Currently ranked #38 in the 2016 class.

Kelby Johnson, 2B, Lakeville South, 2016
5-foot-8, 155-pound middle infielder. 7.28 runner at this event. Solid rhythm and weight transfer. Deep load with arm bar. Length to contact. 76 mph exit velocity off tee. Solid glove and fields out front. Soft hands on back-hand play. True second base actions with some quickness. Adequate range. Accurate throws with carry to bag. 78 mph arm strength.

Riley Johnson, OF, Champlin Park, 2016
5-foot-10, 165-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. 6.77 runner. Smaller athletic frame. Compact build. 6.77 runner. Short to contact. Above average bat speed. Quick hands and line drive approach to gaps. 84 mph exit velocity off tee. Solid actions in OF. Throws have good carry, are online, with plus accuracy at 81 mph. Athletic enough to play IF; profiles better as OF. Makes routine with avg. glove and usable feet. 78 mph arm strength from shortstop.

Riley Johnson, RHP, Eastview, 2016
6-foot-3, 190-pound right-handed pitcher. Johnson is one of the fastest risers in the 2016 class. Some crouch at balance point with drop and drive mechanics on mound. His arm is clean and ball jumps on hitter. 84-87 mph; topping out at 88 mph with life. Tends to get around breaking ball at times; flashes tight rotation and short break for strikes. Changeup is occasionally too firm with average action. Wiry athletic build with above average ceiling will have colleges following Johnson closely over the next few months.

Cal Kellner, 1B, East Ridge, 2016
6-foot-4, 205-pound right-handed hitting first baseman with athleticism. Physical player. 6.71 runner. Shows power in bat. Strong frame. Quiet head and actions in box. Ability to drive balls to the gaps. 88 mph exit velocity off tee. Primary first baseman. Stiff hands at times. Physical presence. Is adequate around the bag with strong arm. Shows usable actions in OF. Runs above average and arm is playable. Strong follow with ability to drive baseball and run tool.

Jack Kuzma, SS, Minnetonka, 2016
6-foot-1, 165-pound right-handed hitting shortstop. 7.19 runner. Kuzma has made significant strides with the bat and his overall physicality since the Fall of 2015. Is beginning to mature well into his body. Balanced set-up and works down/through baseball with flat line-drive swing plane. Repeats swing well with consistent solid contact and average power. 76 mph exit velocity off tee. Aggressive fielder with soft hands and quality exchange. Quick release with accuracy. Arm is clean and shows average arm strength across diamond at 75 mph.

Aiden Ladd, SS/C, Belle Plaine, 2016
5-foot-11, 180-pound versatile player. 7.77 runner. Active load with leg kick trigger. Inconsistent launch position. Flashes hard line-drive potential to pull side of field. 78 mph exit velocity off tee. Average/ok actions in field with ability to throw from multiple angles. Arm is clean with solid accuracy to bag. Glove is usable; feet can be heavy at times. 70 mph arm strength across. Receives with thumb underneath. Length to exchange. Direction is good to target. Low arm slot on throws causing ball to run away from target. 72 mph arm strength with 2.12 pop time.

Joseph Larson, SS, Lakeville North, 2016
5-foot-11, 190-pound right-handed hitting middle infielder. 7.00 runner. Inverted C load. Solid contact. Uses whole field. Profiles as 2-hole type player with bat control. 84 mph exit velocity off tee. Average feet and hands at third base. Makes routine. Stiff glove occasionally. Throws are accurate to bag with solid arm strength at 83 mph.

Jimmy Larson, RHP, Prior Lake, 2016
6-foot-6, 190-pound right-handed pitcher. Larson oozes potential on mound. Extremely long loose arm and at times is lightning quick. Has body control and can play catch to the glove with his fastball as well as anyone in the state. Very athletic- starting high school quarterback- Larson is just beginning to scratch the surface of his ability on mound. Fastball was thrown at 84-86 mph and it’s easy to dream on it being upper 80’s- low 90’s once he continues to mature physically. Curveball showed plus tilt; struggled at times with release point. Changeup is thrown at fastball arm speed. Will make moves up the rankings from current spot at #32.

Usable hands and feet around bag at first. Also plays outfield and is very solid in corners. Arm is clean and makes accurate throws at 82 mph across diamond.

Ok actions with solid glove and feet. Ability to defend at third. High follow with pop in bat and versatile defender.

Jacob Raether, LHP, Minnetonka, 2016
6-foot-3, 175-pound left-handed pitcher. Raether did not throw as well in this event as we’ve seen previously; but is still strongly positioned as one of the better LHP’ers in the state of Minnesota. Rhythm seemed off at times. Showed the ability to leverage fastball down and in on RHH. Arm is clean and ball jumps out of hand with solid run to outer half. The arm is fast and changeup is a plus pitch for him. Breaking ball was thrown with tight rotation and varying 12/6 – 1/7 shape.

Tyler Reichenborn, OF, Blaine, 2016
5-foot-10, 175-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. Physical player with above average tools and explosive actions. Reichenborn’s performance enabled him to receive an invitation to the PBR Pro-Case in Chicago. Strong run tool; clocking 6.65 in the 60. Solid actions in the outfield. Gets good jumps on baseball and tracks well. Arm strength has improved; routinely throwing 87 mph with carry and accuracy. Strength in bat. 93 mph exit velocity. Smoked oppo-gap triple off 90 mph fastball. Will push balls the other way at times. Somewhat raw; Reichenborn has exceptional package of tools and skills that will make him a highly sought after commodity for various college programs.

William Riach, RHP, Lakeville North, 2016
6-foot-2, 170-pound right-handed pitcher. Riach had one of the best Spring seasons in the state of Minnesota. Routinely pounds the zone with 4 quality offerings. Fastball is in the low 80’s with late ASR inducing weak contact routinely. He hides the ball from hitters and is rarely squared up. True 4 pitch mix that he throws in any count. Rarely walks hitters and attacks zone. Doesn’t over power hitters but works fast, keeps them off-balance, and is athletic on mound fielding his position and controlling the running game.

Walker Rogers, 3B, Simley, 2016
5-foot-11, 185-pound third baseman. 7.56 runner with a solid frame. Occasional length to swing; flashes solid pop to pull side of field when he stays connected and short to contact. Stiff lower half effects balance in box. 85 mph exit velocity off tee. Glove is usable with average actions and feet in field. Throws are accurate. Plays with energy. 72 mph arm strength across infield.

Luke Roskam, C/1B, Chaska, 2016
6-foot-2, 215-pound left-handed hitting corner player. 7.87 runner. Roskam shows an intriguing combination of power and strike zone discipline. Rarely chases in game action. Shows ability to use whole field and hit ball where it’s pitched. Flashes of power to oppo gap along with ability to lift balls out to pull side. Better game hitter vs. B.P. hitter. 87 mph exit velocity off tee. Solid receiver and blocker for size. Exchanges are quick and clean. Longer arm action on throws to second. 2.06 pop time with 81 mph arm strength. Also plays first base and is an above average pitcher at high school level. In category of “best hitters” in state.

Isaac Rubendall, RHP, Sioux Falls Lincoln (SD), 2016
6-foot-3, 175-pound right-handed pitcher. Lean athletic body with long legs and high waist. Good balance point. Shoulder tilt in delivery. Stabs down in arm circle and is fast out front. Lands slightly across body in delivery. Arm works clean out front. Fastball is straight with above average command at 82-85 mph. Shows avg. feel for curveball; thrown with 12/6 shape at 67-69 mph. Cutter has varying shape and feel around zone at 77-79 mph. Guides changeup at times. Lacks polish with secondary pitches presently but is very projectable and will continue to add velocity to fastball. High ceiling with development.

Nathan Santos, RHP/3B, Altoona (WI), 2016
6-foot-1, 200-pound 2-way player. Good balance and direction in delivery. Will leak out early from balance point occasionally and rush to plate. Long loose arm action with life on fastball. Ball comes out quick and jumps on hitter at 82-84 mph. Breaking ball is an above average pitch with depth and tilt through zone. Changeup is thrown at fastball arm speed with plus fade and is an out pitch at the next level.

Sam Schneider, SS, Burnsville, 2016
6-foot, 180-pound right-handed hitting shortstop. Solid build. 7.04 runner. Schneider has leap-frogged himself into being one of the more attractive middle infield options in the state. Has consistently performed well in front of recruiters. Currently ranked #51 in the 2016 class; should see a considerable jump in the rankings. Aggressive swings at the plate with mid-pull approach. Routinely squares up baseball with authority. Shows strength to pull side of field. 89 mph exit velocity off tee. Has ok actions at shortstop; solid glove; decent range to both sides; and arm is quick and accurate to bag. 86 mph arm strength across.

6-foot, 170-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. Average build. Ran a 8.12 60. Crouched stance with longer stride into contact. Uphill swing plane. Short to contact. Pull approach. 69 mph exit velocity. Has avg./ok actions in outfield. Short release with limited extension on throws. Accuracy was solid with limited carry. 80 mph arm strength from outfield.

Brett Schulze, RHP/2B, Maple Grove, 2016
6-foot-1, 165-pound 2-way player. Lean build. 7.44 runner. Looks to be able to continue to add strength to frame. Some whip to swing. Has good balance through swing with separation after contact. Shoulder load with some length to contact. 77 mph exit velocity off tee. Showed solid actions in field with usable glove and a clean accurate arm. 80 mph arm strength across infield. Schulze had a very good Spring on the mound for his high school team. His fastball was 85-88 mph with good extension to the plate. Arm is loose and clean from high ¾ slot. Flashes tight rotation at times with breaking ball at 71-72 mph. Splitter was an above average offering with depth at 75-78 mph. Schulze is a High Follow with many colleges tracking his progress through the summer.

Nicholas Shaeffer, 2B, St. Thomas Academy, 2016
5-foot-11, 160-pound middle infielder. Lean build. 7.33 runner. Deep load with front heel turn trigger. Strides across at times. Arm bar restricts bat speed through zone. Uses whole field. Spray hitter. 80 mph exit velocity off tee. Very active feet and fields out front and low to ground. ½ pie arm action with solid accuracy across diamond. Glove is sound and makes routine plays. 78 mph arm strength across.

Charlie Sheehan, RHP, Eden Prairie, 2016
6-foot-1, 185-pound right-handed pitcher. Solid durable build on mound. Clean arm action from short high ¾ slot. Elbow drops at times. Above average extension to plate and uses lower half well. Confident actions on mound. Working arm back into shape. Was 83-85 mph at this event. Breaking ball had flashes of tight late break at 70-71 mph. Already exploring numerous college opportunities with ability on mound and high academic profile.

6-foot-2, 190-pound left-handed pitcher. Projectable size and strength on mound. Will continue to mature physically and be a major presence on mound. Has rhythm on mound; body and arm work well together. Long arm circle; arm is clean and fluid. OT slot. Left pitches elevated at times. Fastball was 81-84 mph at this event; previously as high as 88 mph with varying sink and cut. Breaking ball has 1/7 shape with flashes of tight rotation and depth. Skoro has a chance to be an immediate D1 contributor. Projectable body and arm; velocity will continue to increase; and throws strikes with two present pitches.

Drew Stewart, OF, Lakeville North, 2016
6-foot-3, 180-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. 6.89 runner. Lean athletic frame that will continue to add strength. Above average athlete and tools across the board. Aggressive swings. Short to contact. Drives baseball. Loses leverage at contact with wide base. Projectable hitting tools. 89 mph exit velocity off tee. Quick twitch actions in outfield. Arm is clean. Throws have above average carry and accuracy to target. Light on his feet. High Follow in 2016 class who has a chance to move up rankings.

Eric Stolt, LHP, Blake School, 2016
6-foot-4, 185-pound left-handed pitcher. Tall athletic frame. Will continue to add strength. Athletic actions on mound with ability to control running game and field position. Solid balance point and lands closed with good direction to plate. Long stride inhibits extension out and over front leg in release. One piece arm action that still produces fastballs in the 83-86 mph range; topping out at 87 mph. Shows ability to leverage ball down on hitter. Is stiff at times throwing breaking ball and changeup. Stays around the zone with 3 pitches. Considerable upside with body and athleticism and will benefit from instruction/ development in college. Very high academic profile.

Connor Stroh, RHP, Lakeville South, 2016
6-foot-3, 160-pound right-handed pitcher. Stroh has begun to fill out physically. Projectable frame that will continue to add strength. Long clean extended arm action. Up tempo delivery. Solid extension to plate with good direction. Ball jumps out of hand. Showed above average command of fastball at 84-87 mph. Slurve is thrown with good arm speed; 10/4 shape with late sweeping break at 71-73 mph. Above feel for changeup. Stroh’s performance will push him up in the MN 2016 rankings once revised.

Ryan Swanson, RHP, Eden Prairie, 2016
6-foot-5, 205-pound right-handed pitcher. Lanky solid frame. High ¾ arm action with above average ASR. Long loose arm action. Lands in-line and open to plate. Average extension on release with upright finish. Will spin off target at times. Fastball was 84-88 mph with solid late movement. Slider is best secondary pitch with tight rotation and short late break at 77-79 mph. Very projectable body and arm action. One of the top arms in the 2016 class in Minnesota.

Tyler Tennyson, 1B, Fairmont, 2016
6-foot-1, 170-pound right-handed hitting first baseman. 7.39 runner. Athletic actions in box. Stays inside the ball well. Middle of the field approach. Short through zone. Above average carry and accuracy across the diamond. Quick feet and good glove. Balance and body control is well above average. 83 mph arm strength across.

6-foot-4, 185-pound right-handed pitcher. Tall, lean, projectable body. Short clean arm action from OT slot with downward plane on fastball. Fastball shows arm side life at 84-87 mph. Curveball was 71-72 mph with occasional depth and sharp break. Slider is a present plus pitch that absolutely disappears at the plate at 75-78 mph. Is still developing feel and ability to repeat changeup. Currently #27 ranked player in Minnesota for 2016 class.
