Today’s Florida Insider will feature a few 2017 and 2018 outfielders who have been swinging the bat and playing at high level at recent events. Some of these players are starting to get looks from schools while some should be receiving attention in the near future.
Joel Brewer OF, Tampa Jesuit 2018
Brewer is an uncommitted rising sophomore who stands at 5-foot,-11 175 pounds with a lean, athletic, and projectable body frame with strength. He is quiet at the plate with a short, quick swing, good bat speed, and a nice swing plane. He stays balanced and has very quick hands that allow him to usually not get beat with fastballs inside. Joel is still young but seems like the type of player who will draw attention from schools next summer.
Duncan Hunter OF, Tampa Jesuit 2017
Hunter is an uncommitted incoming junior who is 6-foot-3, 180 pounds with a lean, athletic, and projectable body with strength. He has loose and smooth actions all over the field. Hunter is open with a relaxed stance at the plate and gets a good separation for his load. He has a nice swing plane and drives the ball to all fields and looks like an above average runner. Duncan is a good looking player who will definitely play at the next level. He will be drawing attention from DI schools very soon if he has not already.
Rafael Libunao OF, Trinity Catholic 2017
Libuano is an uncommitted incoming junior who stands at 5-foot-8, 180 pounds with a thick, stalky, compact, and strong frame. He is crouched in his stance, rides his back side, and is relaxed with good rhythm. Rafael has a nice swing plane, stays inside the ball well, has good bat speed, and the ball jumps off his bat. Libuano has an advanced lefty bat that will draw attention from schools. His height may cause him to be somewhat under the radar right now but his game speaks for itself and he will definitely play at the next level.
Dylan Cloonan OF/LHP, Westminster Christian 2017
Cloonan is an uncommitted incoming junior who is 6-foot-1, 170 pounds with a lean, athletic, and projectable frame. He is upright in his stance with a leg kick for his stride. Cloonan is relaxed at the plate with a nice swing plane, stays inside the ball well, and hits to all fields. He possesses good bat speed with a line drive approach that allows him to consistently square up quality pitching. Dylan appears to be starting to draw some attention from recruiters and will attract a lot more as he continues to be seen.
