Fall Player Spotlights: Luke Jackson

This Fall PBR Arkansas is highlighting a couple of the top uncommitted prospects from the 2023 class to a handful of talented 2025's. Today we take a look at the physical senior back stop from Southside HS Luke Jackson. There aren't too many hitters in the state that can generate the kind of power that Jackson can from the left side using his strong bat speed and quick hands to reach exit velocities up to 101 mph. Jackson shows strong balance at the plate allowing him to get the most out of his lower half while letting the barrel whip through the zone with strong leverage at contact. Teams looking for uncommitted, physical, left-handed hitting catchers should take a strong look here.

Had explosive efficient bat speed, short simple swing plane and good extension on his balanced finish. Created tons of loud contact and found lots of barrels. Up the middle aggressive approach. Behind the plate, throw downs to second topped out at 72 mph; has a fluid natural transfer, sure consistent hands, and developing smooth feet. recorded pop times of 2.14-2.22. Calm quiet setup with some flexibility. Used a short compact arm action with an-over-the-top slot while showing consistent accuracy to the bag. During the event, ran the 60-yard dash in 7.68.
