Fall Prospect League: ATU Player Analysis

The Fall Prospect Program that was hosted at Arkansas Tech University. The games were both highly contested with the Maroon and Purple team ending in a tie, the orange defeated the black team 8-4, moving to 2-0 in the league. Below is a player from each that had a good day.

Purple

Dylan Anderson, 2017, MIF, Jessieville HS
Anderson is a 6-foot-1 165-pound middle infielder with a large frame and an athletic build. Anderson impressed during defensively showing off soft hands and fluid footwork as he work through the baseball. He has an elongated exchange with an accurate arm with carry. Offensively he has an uphill swing with fast bat speed. He gets rotational but has shown pull side power. Overall Anderson is an above average athlete that projects to get better.

Orange

Zachary Douglas, 2017, CIF/OF Sylvan Hills HS
Douglas is a 5-foot-11 170-pound third basemen with an athletic frame and build. Offensively he was impressive with fast bat speed and a line drive swing. He has an advanced feel for the barrel and stays balanced throughout his swing. Defensively he plays through the baseball with choppy footwork and smooth transition and an accurate arm. Overall Douglas is a sound offensive player with projectability to play a corner position at the collegiate level.

Black

Shelby Quiggins, 2017, CIF Maumelle HS
Quiggins is a 6-foot-5 190-pound RHP/CIF with a large frame and an athletic build. Defensively he was impressive at third base playing through baseball with fluid foot work and a smooth exchange. He had an accurate arm with carry. Offensively he had a strong day with two hits. He is a switch hitter with a slight uphill swing with fast bat speed and fluid rhythm. Overall Quiggins is a solid player with a high ceiling as he continues to add strength and become more athletic he may turn into one of the players to watch in his class.

Maroon

TJ Bale, 2019, MIF/RHP Parkers Chapel HS
Bale is a 5-foot-7 155-pound MIF/RHP with an athletic frame and build. On the mound he pitched a quick inning pounding the strike zone with his fastball 77-79-mph with a quick loose arm. He pitches from a H ¾ arm slot with repeatable mechanics. He has an advance feel for his curveball throwing it with fastball arm speed and 11/5 break. Defensively he plays through the baseball with fluid foot work a quick exchange and an accurate arm with carry. Overall Bale is a solid athlete with a projectable arm, he will continue to get better as he matures and gets stronger.
