Top Performers Team 3:

  • Team 3 bats exploded on opening weekend of the Fall Program. Leading the charge was Carter Jones (Springboro, 2017) and Dimitri Bergados (St. Francis DeSales, 2017). Jones recorded three hits in total, one of which being a double. Bergados recorded three hits as well, knocking a single, double, and triple.
  • Dimitri Bergados (St. Francis DeSales, 2017) also showed good feel on the mound. The right hander filled up the zone with his fastball/curveball combo; striking out one as he worked a quick 6th inning for Team 3.
  • Mitchell Perry (Norwalk, 2017), and Bailey Armentrout (Kenton Ridge, 2018) recorded a double during game action as Team 3 swept their series with Team 4 finishing the weekend 2-0.
  • 2017 OF/2B Ryan Shorts of Olentangy Liberty High School showed he is a gamer and gets after the baseball. Shorts plays with advanced foot speed in the field and on the bases and registered a 4.45 home to first time.
  • Two-way player OF/RHP Johnny Condit (Springboro, 2018) had a strong showing for Team 3 Sunday. On the mound, the right handed pitcher used a submarine type pitching style and served as a nice change of pace as he worked a quick 2nd inning. Condit also added a three-hit day for Team 3 including a late 5th inning RBI single that put the game out of reach.

Top Performers Team 4:

  • While Team 4 scuffled as a whole this Sunday, a few prospects stuck out. Josh Brobst (Bishop Watterson, 2018 & younger brother to Ohio State Outfielder Jake Brobst) added a well struck triple at the plate, and also showed some arm strength on the mound sitting 79-81 mph.
  • Jason Stahlman (Twinsburg, 2018) showed good speed both out of the box and on the basepaths while adding a single at the dish. Also adding hits for Team 4 were Stephen Leach (Centennial, 2018), Johnny Smith (Lebanon, 2018), and Gavin McGaughey (Kings, 2018).
  • 2017 RHP/3B Carson Ward (Bloom-Carroll) featured a solid three-pitch mix in his outing Sunday. His 76-78 mph fastball showed arm side run, and his 62-64 mph breaking ball offers some added depth on an 11/5 plane. Also mixed in a 66 mph changeup with fastball arm speed.
  • 2018 C/OF Tanner Radford (Centennial, 2018) recorded pop times between 2.33 and 2.44. Also was clocked running a 4.80 home to first time.
