Florida Class of 2020 Updated Rankings

Doug Freeman
Florida Scouting Director

The 2020 class in Florida might be the most talented group currently in high school across the state. With both a deep run of high-end talent and overall depth, the class is shaping up to be an impressive group ready to make an impact both in their high school season and beyond. For this latest update, we have expanded the 2020 rankings to over 210 players.

There is also a new No. 1 in Lake Mary High School’s Dylan Crews. Crews, an LSU commit, has long been on the radar of PBR and scouts across the country. While the outfielder isn’t a plus runner, the plus hit tool and power potential, with the consistent ability to translate his tools to high-level game play, has carried him to the top spot in the state. Also on the rise is No 2 Carson Montgomery. The Windermere High right-hander is committed to Florida State and the premium hand speed and arm talent have made some big strides this fall. The fastball velocity is up to 95 mph and has begun to show a plus slider and improved feel. There is a huge ceiling with Montgomery as he is just starting to tap into the emmse toolset.

Overall, there were not a ton of shakeups to the top part of the list, but there have been several players who stood out throughout the fall added. Check out the preview of the Top 10 below and CLICK HERE for the full list.
