This Saturday, July 14, the University of Central Florida in Orlando will host PBR’s Florida Trials. This event is open to all high school graduating classes (2019 to 2022) and will serve as an integral identifier for upcoming high-profile, invite-only events, like All-State Games and Future Games, as well as Preseason All-State and the national Super 60 showcase.

Currently, there are 50 prospects set to attend Saturday’s Florida Trials including a trio of interesting 2020 catchers: Declan McDermott (Viera), Travis Stapleton (Real Life Christian Academy), and Bennett Lee (Jesuit). McDermott has been on the radar for a couple of years now and is ranked as the No. 10 backstop in his state’s class. Both he and Stapleton were invited to January’s Preseason All-State event. Lee is currently ranked in the top 75 for his class and has shown real offensive potential.

In the infield, SS Elian Roman (Cypress Creek, 2019) will make his mark. Ranked within the top 200 of his state’s class, Roman has displayed some advanced defensive handiwork while demonstrating some bat speed on offense, too. SS Sterlin Thompson (Forest, 2020), stood out during the PBR Florida Limited Series and is ranked within the top 120 for Florida's 2020 class. This will be the first time we'll be seeing Thompson in a showcase setting. SS Jacob Starling (Trinity Prep, 2020) hasreally stood out at the plate where he has shown explosive batspeed.

At this point, none of the 50 attendees have commitments, adding extra intrigue to the event.
