Four Players Pick Their School

The recruiting trail is starting to heat up as we approach July 1st. The 2014s are starting to collect and accept offers.

Most recently, Connor Mitchell from Plainfield HS committed to Furman. Mitchell is a 6-foot-4 LHP with a slender build.  Mitchell’s arm action is really clean and he has demonstrated a high level of pitchability. Mitchell has been as high as 85 on the mound.

Alex Boos from Cathedral was another recent commit, Yale. Boos is a do it all player. He can play all 9 positions on the field and despite being 5-foot-10 hits in state runner-up Cathedrals four hole. Boos played second base for the Irish. Boos can also Catch (2.0-2.1 pop time), pitch (up to 84), and play the outfield. Boos is the third member of the 2012 Team Indiana Midwest Futures Games.

Mason Kutruff from Martinsville recently committed to Dayton. Kutruff is a left handed pitcher and the ace for the Artesians. Kutruff is another projectable left handed pitcher. Kutruff is 6-foot-4 as well and has been as high as 88. Kutruff pitches more 83-85 but possesses good sink and shows a wipe out slider at times. Kutruff is a very interesting sign for Dayton. He has the stuff to be a front line starter.

Central Michigan has also picked up an Indiana player in the recent weeks. Zach McKinstry recently chose CMU as his school of choice. McKinstry is a left handed hitting shortstop from FW North Side. McKinstry is the best defensive guy, up the middle in the class, and has the ability to be an immediate impact player when he steps on campus.
