Team Wisconsin: Workout Day, Quick Hits

From July 26th through July 29th, the Prep Baseball Report staff will run the 13th-annual PBR Future Games at the state-of-the-art LakePoint Sports Complex in Emerson, GA. 

The PBR Future Games workout took place on July 26th, kicking off a week of action at the largest uncommitted event of the year. The best uncommitted prospects from the 2025 and 2026 from 40+ states will participate in a three-game round-robin tournament to showcase their talents. 

This event will run in conjunction with the PBR Junior Future Games. The Junior Future Games features some of the top up-and-coming prospects within the 2027 and 2028 classes, featuring a tournament-style competition in a 14U and 13U field of teams from all across the nation. 

Below are facts and highlights from Team Wisconsin’s Future Games roster, a group who showed well and featured multiple advanced statistics and actions throughout.

QUICK HITS

+ After showing well in all assets of the game, OF Trevor Vande Hey (Wrightstown, 2025) turned heads as one of Team Wisconsin’s top performers on Wednesday. It started with the running of the 60-yard dash, where Vande Hey clocked in at 6.53 seconds, ranging in the top half of competitors in Georgia. He followed that up with an effortless BP session, averaging 96.8 mph off the bat and maxing out at 101.3 mph. Vande Hey presented lightning-quick hands and quality feel for the barrel, finishing with a 77 mph average bat speed, advanced for his age. His natural strength, standing at 6-foot, 195-pounds, also allowed him to reach an impressive 90 mph from the outfield in a clean defensive session. His arm, one that has been noteworthy on the mound as well, continues to improve and become his strength as one of the top prospects in Wisconsin’s 2025 class. An electric all-around performance from Vande Hey reflected a solid spring and summer, as he looks to establish himself as a nationally recognized name in the Midwest and the nation.  

+ Entering the week as one of the most exciting uncommitted prospects in the Badger State, MIF Preston Yaucher (Edgewood, 2025) showed well throughout his workout to begin his week in Georgia. Yaucher, presenting himself as a twitchy 5-foot-10, 180-pound athlete, took one of the best rounds of infield within his pool, reflecting his work throughout the entire 2023 year. As a projectable college shortstop, Yaucher’s arsenal features a quick release and effortless arm strength, summarizing his best actions on the infield. He complimented that defensive session with a quality round of BP, consistently barreling pitches and spraying line drives all over the diamond. He finished with an average exit velocity of 87.5 mph, hitting a ball 319 feet by the end of his round. Yaucher’s all-around performance, emphasized on the defensive end, primes him for a successful week at LakePoint. 

+ OF/MIF/RHP Ethan Bauerschmidt (Tremper, 2025) has been one of the top performers at the high school level for his age group over the past two years, and now enters Georgia as the No. 4 ranked prospect in Wisconsin’s 2025 class. As a two-way prospect, Bauerschmidt showed well as a position player and with the bat in his showcase session on Wednesday afternoon. Standing at a wiry 6-foot-2, 172-pound frame, Bauerschmidt previously presented a live arm in front of our staff, reaching a quick 91 mph from across the infield in the winter. The super-utility athlete was once again smooth on the infield in Georgia, as he has manned outfield positions in the past and will take the mound this weekend too. At the plate, the right-handed batter was consistent in his approach, beginning in an open stance with a medium leg lift, allowing himself to get into his lower half. Similar to the other prospects, Bauerschmidt showcased quality speed in his showcase, running a personal best 6.96-second 60-yard dash to cap off an impressive showing. 

+ Similar to Bauerschmidt, INF/RHP Greyson Zach (Pewaukee, 2025) is another noteworthy two-way prospect who performed at a high level on Wednesday, especially in the batter’s box. Zach, standing at a physical 6-foot-3, 205-pound frame, utilized his natural strength to generate bat speed and barrels, which then resulted in a strong BP session. The 2025 prospect maxed out at 93.9 mph from the plate, showcasing a calm and quiet approach, flashing aggressiveness on pitches driven to the pull-side. The standout also clocked in at 6.84 seconds during his 60-yard dash, adding onto the numerous athletes from the Badger State to run a sub-seven second 60-yard dash in Georgia. Zach will see time on the mound in the round-robin action too, as arguably his strongest asset will be on display throughout the weekend. 

+ OF/C Terek Verhage (Monona Grove, 2025) put together a quality showing by the end of the day at LakePoint, highlighted first by his work from behind the dish. Known for his defensive prowess, Verhage answered the call during his catching session, finishing with a pop time range of 1.94-2.04 seconds. His footwork and quick-twitch athleticism from the plate makes him primed for the position in the future, paired with an improved arm strength, where he reached 77 mph. The projectable 5-foot-10, 165-pound prospect then put together one of his personal best rounds of BP in front of our staff, averaging 86.5 mph off of the bat. Verhage’s swing, a consistent and repeatable motion, was on display throughout his stint, hitting a ball 310 feet with a sweet spot percentage of 73. The incoming junior’s stock continues to rise, as he’s used a successful spring and summer to insert himself as a noteworthy name in Wisconsin’s 2025 class.   

+ After standing out during showcase workouts and in multiple looks throughout the spring and the summer, C Peter Visconti II (Kenosha St. Joseph, 2025) made some noise during the workout portion of the Future Games on Wednesday, especially on the defensive end. Similar to Verhage, the 5-foot-10, 180-pound athlete reached 77 mph from the crouch, finishing with a pop time range of 1.93-2.11 seconds. His work behind the dish was notable, and played into his BP session as well. The quick-twitch and strength that Visconti features was on display while batting, as his swing presents power to the pull-side on a consistent basis, a trait repeated multiple times during the spring and in tournaments over the course of the summer. Just over a month ago, Visconti maxed out at 100.3 mph off of the bat, and demonstrated those same traits in Georgia, despite having slightly lower numbers. His power continued to play though, preparing himself for a strong weekend at the largest uncommitted event of the year.

+ OF Braylen White (Brown Deer, 2025) is one of the state’s top athlete’s and during Wednesday’s workout he showed why. Listed at a lean 5-foot-11, 160-pounds White started off his day by marking a 6.54 in the 60-yard dash, which was the lowest for Team Wisconsin and put him inside of the top-12 for the entire event. He then took a controlled round of BP from the right-side, utilizing a spray approach to work gap-to-gap. While we haven’t seen this week yet, White’s speed is certainly a tool he uses in game as he is consistently a menace on the basepaths, too. 

+ MIF Jack Lutz (Whitnall, 2025) is a slick defender up-the-middle and during Wednesday’s workout he arguably took one of the top defensive rounds of the entire day for Team Wisconsin. Listed at a high-upside 6-foot, 150-pounds, Lutz is a clean and athletic mover on the infield, pairing it with a strong arm that topped at 85 mph across the infield during his defensive workout. Offensively, he swings a clean left-handed bat that we have seen collect a multitude of hits in live looks previously and he is certainly a name-to-know heading into the gameplay portion throughout the week. 

+ INF Jack Zeller (Indian Trail, 2025) was previously a winner from the Top Prospect Games just a couple of weeks ago and he took that production into Wednesday’s workout at LakePoint. Zeller, a 6-foot-1, 165-pound infielder took a clean round of BP, swinging a smooth left-handed bat that sprayed line drives to all parts of the field. Defensively he was equally impressive as he athletically moved from side-to-side and paired it with sure-handed actions that we have seen consistently make plays in-game before. Zeller has continued to make a name for himself inside of the state’s 2025 class and Wednesday’s workout was just the start of what could be an eye-popping week for this uncommitted infield prospect. 

+ C Marek Bolson (Oconomowoc, 2025) was a standout during the spring season, and continued to maintain that momentum into the summer, which earned him an invite to Team Wisconsin at the 2023 PBR Future Games. He started his workout by running a personal best 7.28-second 60-yard dash, a quality number for the catching position. Bolson presents a smooth swing at the plate, along with a consistent barrel. The strength and power continues to develop at a projectable 6-foot-1, 175-pound frame. The defensive portion to cap off the afternoon was intriguing, as Bolson had pop times from 2.01-2.15 seconds. The all-around performance shapes him up well for the rest of the weekend, and for the future.

+ INF Brayden Steinbecker (Manitowoc Lincoln, 2025) presented some of the most interesting tools on Wednesday, projecting as a quality defender and strong hitter at the next level. Standing at an athletic 6-foot-3, 180-pound frame, Steinbecker was a standout at the Top Prospect Games in Milwaukee, and continued to carry that momentum from that event and multiple tournaments in-between into Georgia. On the infield, Steinbecker’s quick feet provided natural movements on the infield, along with a strong arm that reached 81 mph. His defense, in addition to a 7.09-second 60-yard dash, led into a quality offensive showing, where he sprayed line drives to all fields. Steinbecker finished with a max exit velocity of 91 mph, continuing to excel after a successful summer.

+ On both the offensive and defensive end, INF/RHP Jaxon Clayton (Brookfield Central, 2025) solidified himself as a quality athlete after the workout day on Wednesday. The 6-foot-1, 182-pound athlete showcased his improved power over the course of a couple of months, improving his average exit velocity (84.2 mph), batted ball distance (357 feet), and sweet spot % (90). Those numbers, paired with an arm that reached an impressive 86 mph from the shortstop position, were notable within the Team Wisconsin realm throughout the workout. All of this plays into Clayton’s work on the mound, where he’s reached 87 mph in the past, as he looks to showcase his quality actions throughout the three games.  

+ INF/RHP Eli Bryant (Beaver Dam, 2025) is another two-way prospect who earned the invite to Georgia, looking to make a name for himself on the national stage with Team Wisconsin. It started at the plate with Bryant, who showcased an easy and effortless round of BP, reaching a max exit velocity of 90 mph in his round. He launched a baseball 331 feet for his max, flashing sneaky power from a strong 6-foot-2, 185-pound frame. The right-hander put in quality work on the infield as well, reaching 80 mph from the shortstop position in a clean round of defense. His arm on the infield is just the tip of the iceberg though, as Bryant will see time on the mound this weekend, arguably the strongest part of his game. On the bump, Bryant ranges in the mid-to-upper-80s consistently, and was dominant during the high school season and throughout the summer. His pitch arsenal and two-way abilities make him an interesting follow for the rest of the weekend.  

+ As the No. 1 ranked overall prospect in Wisconsin’s 2025 class, 3B/C/RHP Carter Kutz (Hartford, 2025) lived up to the hype on Wednesday, putting together another quality showing in front of our staff. Kutz, standing at a lean 6-foot-2, 185-pound frame, impressed at the plate, launching a home run and repeatedly barreling up pitches throughout his BP session. It reflected his strong finish in the spring and momentum built up in the summer, which was also on display during the defensive portion of the action. Kutz reached 88 mph from the infield, turning in a smooth round from the shortstop position. In addition to his solid play on the infield, he put in some time behind the plate too, finishing with a pop time range of 1.89-1.96 seconds. The arm talent plays anywhere on the diamond for Kutz, giving him flexibility as a future position player. The star-studded athlete will get on the mound as well, where he’s had success for a while now, establishing himself as one of the best two-way prospects in the state, regardless of class.

+ OF Nathan Schopf (Oak Creek, 2025) presented our staff with a hard, aggressive swing. His ability to control the bat path and barrel, a trait mentioned in prior looks, was the difference-maker in his performance on Wednesday. Schopf, at a mature 6-foot-1, 205-pound frame, generated easy power maxing out at 99.1 mph from the plate, averaging an exit velocity of 93.8 mph. The uncommitted prospect showcased the ability to lift the baseball too, driving a pitch a max 365 feet. All of the numbers were personal bests for Schopf, displaying his continued improvement as a young prep athlete. His quickness and agility in the batter’s box was previously in action during his 60-yard dash, where he sprinted a 6.97, a quality number for an outfielder. Defensively, Schopf performed well; he reached 82 mph from the left field position, making accurate throws that featured carry. The right-hander continues to show improvement in all facets of his game at the ideal time on the national stage.
