May 19, 2012
By Brian Duffy
Prospect defeated Burlington Central 6-0 behind the strong pitching performance of senior RHP Jack Landwehr and sophomore Jordan Fedro.
Landwehr, an Illinois State commit, threw 4 innings, allowing only one hit. Landwehr sat at 87-88 mph and touched 90 multiple times. His 75-78 mph curveball was thrown consistently for a strike with a tight, late 11/5 shape.
Class of 2014 player Jordan Fedro came in relief of Landwehr and finished the game off. Fedro sat at 82-84 mph and showcased a curveball which kept the Central hitters off-balance. The 6-foot-4 right-hander struck out 5 in his 3 innings of work.
Prospect broke the game open in the third inning by scoring 5 runs. Prospect was led by juniors Zack Tuczak and Dan Kavanaugh. Tuczak had a couple hits and 3 RBI on the day while Kavanaugh scored twice and singled in a run.
