In an exciting game Bedford defeated Monroe 3-2 with a two-out, two-RBI hit to deep center by Bedford's Josh Strickland (C, 2013). The hit gave Jackson Lamb (CF/RHP, 2013/Michigan) the win in relief of starter Kyle Kuhr (RHP/RF, 2013/Siena Heights), who worked 5+ innings and surrendered two runs earned runs. Lamb worked two innings striking out four hitters.

Monroe starter Grant Bender (RHP, 2014) went the distance and suffered the loss. Monroe scored first in the top of the fourth inning on Jake Duvall's (C, 2013) leadoff home run to right, but Bedford came right back with a leadoff homerun from Brad Boss (SS, 2014).

Leading off the sixth Duvall hit another homer to right, this one farther than the first one. Following a hit by Todd Paullus (DH, 2014) Lamb replaced Kuhr on the mound. Lamb retired the next three batters and promptly retired three more in the top of the seventh.

Bender gave up a single, then a strikeout, another single and a hit-by-pitch to load the bases; a fielder's choice got the second out on the force at home, followed by Strickland's hit to end the game.
