Christopher Dock Mennonite 5, Holy Ghost Prep 0
In a battle of Bicentennial Athletic League division leaders, class A Christopher Dock Mennonite rode yet another dominating performance from junior right-handed pitcher Daniel Sabath (right) to a win over class 3A Holy Ghost Prep. With his complete game effort (5 H, 0 BB, 13 K), the 6-foot, 170-pounder has now won all eight of his starts this spring with a composite line of 37 innings, 17 hits, three walks, and 62 strikeouts. He hasn't given up a run since March. Dock improves to 12-0 on the season, while Holy Ghost falls to 10-2.
Dock used two crooked numbers to post their winning margin. The first four hitters reached base to spark a three-run bottom of the third inning that included RBI from senior outfielder Rashid Saint-Fleur, freshman third baseman Nolan Bolton, and senior second baseman Elias Gehman. The Pioneers added two insurance runs with two outs in the sixth when runs came home on a bases loaded wild pitch and a hit-by-pitch. Sabath emphatically closed out the game by recording three strikeouts in the top of the seventh, his fifth multi-strikeout inning of the game.
