Mark Giesler and Nolan Rogers dueled it out last night at Ruxer Field in Jasper. Both pitchers topped out at 91 mph in a game that only saw 5 hits total. Jasper capitalized on 2 errors in the 4th to secure a run on a passed ball, then Senior Dane Giesler added a run in the bottom of the 6th with a towering shot off a 90 mph fastball from Rogers. Mark Giesler for Jasper was ultra efficient going 7 innings and throwing just 69 total pitches. He gave up 2 hits and struck out 5. Only once did he have a batter go to 5 pitches total. Giesler was sitting 87-89 and topping at 91 several times, his change was 74 and the curve was 71. Nolan Rogers was just as impressive striking out 6 Wildcat batters and giving up just 3 hits. Rogers was 86-88 and popped off a couple 90 and 91s in the game.
