Good Pitching, Timely Hitting Gets Park Tudor a Win

Timely hitting and two good pitching performances from Kevin Rex (2013) and Pierce Hardacker (2014) lead the Park Tudor Panthers to victory over Monrovia.

Park Tudor put the first three runs on the board in the second inning that started off with a leadoff double by Hardacker.  Hardacker later scored off a single by Chris Elbrecht (2014). Tate Latinovich (2013) followed with a double to score Elbrecht , and later scored himself off of Matt Pauszek’s (2013) ground out bringing the score to 3-0.

Chris Eckersley (2012) sent a line drive over the 315 sign in left to score one in the third.  A sac fly by Rex scored Latinovich in fourth making the score 5-0. Monrovia got two across in the fifth when Rob Marley (2013) scored on a passed ball and Jeremy Gray (2013) scored on a single by Luke Judson (2013).  Pauzek, Rex, and Madison Foster (2012) would touch home in the sixth giving the game its final score of 8-2.

Kevin Rex and Pierce Hardacker both turned in quality pitching performances. Rex went 4 and 2/3 innings to get the win. He was consistently 78-81 mph, 82 on a couple of occasions.  Rex struck out three while only giving up one earned run off of two hits.  Hardacker would throw the final 2 and 1/3 innings giving up two hits, no runs, and struck out one to get the save.
