Today we wrap up the Hoosier Holiday showcase player analysis with a look at the pitchers in attendance.

Top Prospect

Devin Gross OF / LHP / Decatur Central, IN / 2018

5-foot-11, 170 pound southpaw featured a fastball up to 84mph, sitting 82-83. Some late run with arm side command. High intensity delivery with some rhythm. Slight inward turn at the top of load. Short arm circle, quick hand. Works through a stiff front leg, finishing upright. Slider was best off-speed pitch, showing late depth at 71-74. Curveball was inconsistent but has gradual break at 66-68.

6-foot-2, 170 pound right-handed pitcher has a high 3/4 slot with average hand speed. Strike thrower. Slight run on the fastball that sat 76-78. Breaking ball has 10/4 shape with sweeping action. Change-up is thrown with near FB arm speed and has some fade. Delivery stays in line, lands square and soft. Lacks front leg extension.

Cole Connor LHP / OF / Zionsville, IN / 2019

5-foot-9, 155 pound left-handed pitcher throws from a 3/4 slot with rhythm down the mound. Keeps level shoulders and direction to the plate. Lands soft, squared. Fastball has consistent run, thrown for strikes, sat 77-78mph. Change-up has late depth, fade. Quality pitch. Breaking ball lacks identity and consistency. Missed arm side often. Undersized lefty has a drop and drive delivery.

Cody Hupp LHP / OF / Gibson Southern , IN / 2019

6-foot, 185 pound southpaw sat 79-80, touching 81 with slight run on the fastball. Has some rhythm in load, gets out of sync at foot strike. Short arm circle, releases from a 3/4 slot. Slider sat 69-70mph with gradual break and some depth. Change-up has late fade, thrown with near fastball arm speed and a stiff wrist.

6-foot-3, 180 pound right-handed pitcher features a high leg kick and 3/4 arm slot in his delivery. Short arm circle, good rhythm and timing. Lands squared, firm. Athletic finish. Fastball sat 77-78, touching 81 for strikes. Breaking ball has downer action at 66-68. Change-up is thrown at 74-76 with near fastball arm sped and a stiff wrist.

6-foot-6, 240 pound right-handed pitcher has a high 3/4 slot with some arm strength. Strong lower half, slight inward at the top of leg lift. Lands closed, works around front leg. Fastball sat 81-82 for strikes. Breaking ball has gradual break at 67-69 with 11/5 shape. Change-up has some fade to arm side. Methodical delivery with some rhythm.

Tyler Parker RHP / OF / Leo , IN / 2019

6-foot-3, 190 pound pitcher sat 77-79 with the fastball. Commanded the fastball to both sides of the plate. Short arm circle, high 3/4 release. Some rhythm and effort through delivery. Maintains direction. Lands soft, rotates on front foot. Breaking ball has loopy 11/5 action at 60-63mph.

Karter Hann 1B / LHP / Harrison, IN / 2021

6-foot, 175 pound southpaw showcased a smooth delivery with a big frame for his age. Clean load into arm swing, lands squared. Maintains direction and finishes with some athleticism. Arm strength should come as he matures into body. Repeatedly threw strikes with different pitches. Fastball sat 70-72 while the breaking ball was 61-64 with loopy 1/7 shape. Change-up was thrown with stiff wrist and some fade.

Matthew Peek SS / RHP / Noblesville, IN / 2019

5-foot-10, 165 pound right-handed pitcher has smooth rhythm and easy effort down the mound. Strike thrower. Repeated delivery. Featured a fastball sitting 79-81 with some arm side sink. Curveball has gradual break with 11/5 shape. Change-up has late arm side fade. Quality pitch that showcased consistent movement. Slider has more sweepy action.

Dalton Rennaker 1B / RHP / Benton Central , IN / 2021

5-foot-11, 220 pound right-handed pitcher has some rhythm with a drop and drive delivery. High 3/4 release with average arm speed. Maintains direction with shoulders and stride. Lands soft, works over his front leg. Fastball sat 77-78. Breaking ball has gradual break and 11/5 shape. Change-up features some late fade, thrown with near fastball arm speed.

Landen Southern RHP / SS / Clinton Prairie , IN / 2021

5-foot-5, 130 pound right-handed pitcher has good rhythm and direction down the mound. Controls lower half well for age. Fastball sat 66-68mph for strikes. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with some feel. Change-up is thrown with near fastball arm speed. Short arm swing, high 3/4 release. Underdeveloped frame that should add velocity and physicality.
