A cold day saw two of the top teams in the state square off, as #8 Huntington North traveled to take on #11 Norwell. By game time the temperature was in the low 40s with 20+ mph wind gusts, not the nice weather Indiana baseball has been seeing lately. Heartland CC commit Trevor Storie (2012) got the ball for Huntington North and he showed that the temperature would not affect him. Storie sat in the low to mid 80s for all seven innings he threw. Luke Hunter (2013) got the ball for Norwell throwing five quality innings sitting 79-83.

Storie got Huntington North on the board in the second when he drove a ball to right field for a solo homerun, giving Huntington North a 1-0 lead. They would add another run in the third after Cody Frazier (2012, Huntington University) reached on an error and two batters later Evan Brown (2013) singled him in. Norwell got the run back in the bottom of the frame when Kyler Mills (2012) singled to right bringing home Austin Dantzer (2013), who had walked to start the inning.

Huntington North looked like they were going to add another run in the fourth on a single from Storie, but a good relay throw got the runner in a close play at the plate. They would however, get a run in the fifth and two more runs in the sixth. In the fifth  Brown hit a sacrifice fly to right field, putting Huntington North up 3-1. In the sixth both Jared Green (2012) and Brock Gower (2012) reached base on errors and would come around to score on three consecutive pitches that got away from the catcher, giving Huntington North a 5-1 lead.

In the 7^th Storie made sure that Norwell would not make any sort of comeback striking out the side to end the game. Storie was dominant going all seven innings, allowing just three hits, six walks, and striking out 11. He was also 3-4 at the plate with the homerun. Evan Brown finished the game 2-2 with two RBI.

For Norwell, Hunter finished with five innings pitched, six hits, two earned runs, and five strikeouts. Kyler Mills finished 1-2 at the plate with a RBI. Josh VanMeter (2013) threw the last two innings sitting 82-84.
