Illinois Fox River Open: Top Overall Prospects

The Fox River Open was held on Monday, June 11, at The MAX in McCook. Nearly 50 prospects from all high school classes participated in a pro-style workout in front of the Illinois scouting staff. We began the rollout of the event with a look at the catchers in attendance followed by infielders, outfielders and pitchers. 

Today we conclude the analysis of the event with a look at the top five prospects in attendance.

TOP OVERALL PROSPECTS

1. Brandon Micetich, INF, Plainfield Central, 2020
6-foot, 168-pound, athletic build, projectable framed, left handed hitting infielder. Offensively, balanced set up, natural smooth load, high leg kick, short stride, good lower half balance. Fast bat speed, level bat path, lets ball get deep, extension through baseball, gap-gap approach, fluid rhythm throughout, uphill finish, 82 exit velocity off tee. Defensively, long arm action, high ¾ release, throws 73-mph across infield. Ran 6.98 in the 60, laser-timed.
