Ohio Insider: Initial Class of 2023 Player Rankings (September)

During the spring and summer, we covered the OHSAA High School season in the spring, held numerous showcases/events and covered many tournaments across the state in the summer. These proved valuable for many 2023 prospects, with many names be noted and talked about by some of the most prestigious programs in the nation. Below we will take a look at The Top 10 and "On The Cusp Prospects".

The Initial Top 10

Colt Emerson SS / C / John Glenn, OH / 2023

Report: I hate to use the term can’t miss prospect, especially this young, but C/SS Colt Emerson is about as close as it gets to that.  A complete prospect that you could make a real argument grades out as the top defender and the top bat in his class. Lefty swinger that can use the whole field with authority and true spin. I’m not sure we’ve been to a game he didn’t record a multi-hit day. Pick your position with him as he can play all three skill spots in the infield and looks like a no brainer behind the dish. Bloodlines are there as well,  as his brother Brady Emerson is a Buckeye commit who is a top 15 ranked prospect in the 2020 class. Expect Emerson to garner national recruiting attention... if he hasn’t already.
