PBR: Why did you choose Davenport?

Dixon:  It was a place that I felt very comfortable.  I really liked the coaching staff and had a good rapport with them.  Overall I felt it was the best fit for me.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Dixon: Initially, I received a lot of interest from several schools but when it came down to the end, Oakland University was honestly my only other serious consideration.  

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you?

Dixon:  My summer baseball coach from the Oakland Reds called me and told me they were interested.  I was contacted by their coach, and visited them a week later.  

PBR: What team do you play for in the summer and what is your most memorable moment.

Dixon: Oakland Reds   Playing in the Notre Dame tournament last July.  We made it to the semi finals.  We had already played 2 games that Sunday.  I caught both of those games, as well as the semi-final.  The game went 9 innings, and almost 4 hours.   The other team was very competitive, but had great sportsmanship and character.  We ended up losing, but it was one of the best baseball games I've been a part of.  

PBR: Davenport has a beautiful baseball stadium.  How much of a role did that play in your decision?

Dixon: It was not a factor in my final decision.  I was more interested in looking for a college where I was comfortable, a place that had a great baseball program, and a coach that I could really respect and enjoy playing for.  Their awesome facilities are just a bonus!

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process?

Dixon:  I expected it to be a long grueling process, and that's about what it was.  I've got to tell it like it is, it was stressful.  I just wanted to make the right decision, and to be honest,  I'm glad its over.  

PBR: What were your stats last spring season?

Dixon:  BA - .412, OBP - .462, SLG - .588, AB - 97, H - 40, K - 9

PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher that you have faced?

Dixon:  I was at a tournament last summer where I faced a pitcher that I had heard was later drafted to the pros.  I don't recall the team he played for, or his name, but he was the best pitcher I've faced thus far.
