Sam Shelt Palm, INF, Calvert HS, Class of 2016

PBR: Why did you choose Findlay?

Shelt Palm:  I felt like Findlay was the right choice because of the connection with the coaches, players, academic program and campus.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Shelt Palm: My final decision was between Findlay and Heidelberg.

PBR:  Where did the coaches first see you compete and how did your relationship develop with the rest of the coaching staff?

Shelt Palm:  They first saw me play at Mercy Field in the Black Swamp Tournament in Toledo.  They also saw me late in the summer at the PBR Unsigned Senior event at Kent State.

PBR: What role does the coaching staff expect you to play during your first year on campus?

Shelt Palm:  They expect me to come in, work hard and be a great team player.

PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?

Shelt Palm:  My dad.  I had a great opportunity to spend a lot of time around him and the Heidelberg baseball program growing up.

PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was your most exciting experience playing summer ball?

Shelt Palm:  I played for the Tiffin Titans, Great Lakes Prospects, and will be playing for Findlay Legion this summer.   My greatest memories came from developing relationships with all of my teammates that I have played with over the years.

PBR: What were your stats last season?

Shelt Palm:  AVG .301; 2B 4; RBI 16

PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher you have faced?

Shelt Palm:  Alex Theis or Michael Kirian.
