September 13, 2016
Chris Meyers, INF, Miamisburg HS, Class of 2017
PBR: Why did you choose Toledo?
Meyers: I chose Toledo, not only because I like the program, but I really built a strong relationship with Coach Mee and the rest of the coaching staff
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Meyers: Miami University, Ball State and Quincy University
PBR: Where did the Coach Mee first see you? How did your relationship develop with their coaching staff?
Meyers: He first saw me at a Toledo hitting camp where I got to work one on one with different members of the coaching staff.
PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play your first year on campus?
Meyers: They would like me to fill a spot on the left side of the infield (SS/3B)
PBR: What is your biggest strength as a player and how do you feel that you will help Rocket baseball?
Meyers: I’d have to say hitting, I feel I will be able to move runners on the base path to put runs on the board
PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was the most memorable experience from this summer?
Meyers: Dayton Classics, most memorable moments would have to be all the travel tourneys hanging with the team at hotels
PBR: Now that you have your commitment out of the way, what are your goals both individually and for the team next spring?
Meyers: Individually, I’m always working to get more consistency with my swing; to get stronger and improve my footwork in the field. As a team, I hope to win GWOC West and make a run in the state tournament.
PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher that you have faced?
Meyers: Toughest pitcher I’ve faced is probably Jon Snyder (Fenwick/Midland)
