Island Coast beats North Fort Myers 11-6

Headed down to Fort Myers last night to check out Island Coast who was hosting North Fort Myers. This matchup saw a couple potential MLB Draft hopefuls in, Emilio Gonzalez and Jake Mueller. Island Coast got the scoring early in the bottom half of the 1st after Kevin Martinez was hit by a pitch and Mueller doubled, both scoring in the inning.

Martinez, the starter for the Gators, worked himself into and out of a jam in the 2nd. The Gators added 4 more runs in the bottom half. Isaac Lopez hit a 2 RBI double.

Gonzalez also doubled in the inning, adding another run for the Gators.

The Red Knights got 3 runs back in the 3rd after Thomas Eisiminger and Garry Kamphouse walked. Blake Busbee doubled and Matthew Blasena singled to cut the Gators lead to 3.

Nothing doing for either team in the 4th. Island Coast added 2 to their lead in the 5th on a couple errors by the Red Knights. Juan Torres singled in the inning. An additional 3 runs were added by the Gators in the 6th after RBIs from Jordi Guerrero, Davin Hickman, and Jason Richardson. Torres also had his 2nd hit of the game in the inning. The Red Knights mounted a bit of a comeback in the 7th after Kamphouse walked and Busbee was hit by a pitch, followed up by a 3-run home run by Brady Grados.
