Top 3

Kasey Crawford RHP / OF / Olathe West, KS / 2023

Taking over the top slot in Kansas is a move in from New Mexico, Oklahoma commit Kasey Crawford, who already shows high end velo with a ton of projection left in his 6-foot-3, 180-pound frame. At the MOKAN Fall Underclass Prospect Games, Crawford impressed by using and athletic delivery and low-3/4 slot to  pound the strike zone. Crawford featured upper 80s fastball showing consistent arm-side run and sink at the bottom of the zone. He also mixed a slider in the low 70s and an advanced changeup in the mid 70s.

Jeremy Comer OF / RHP / St James Academy, KS / 2023

At the No. 2 spot is Tennessee commit OF Jeremy Comer. The 6-foot-3, 175-pound left-handed hitter had one of the most impressive summers at the dish of any 2023 in the country, especially at Lakepoint. An above average runner with an above average arm, look for Comer to trend upward as he puts on size and strength.

Jaxon Goldberg SS / OF / Blue Valley North, KS / 2023

The top infielder on the list and No. 3 overall is the athletic SS Jaxon Goldberg. Able to play any infield or outfield position, switch hit, and star in other spots, Goldberg is arguably the best all-around athlete in the class. Offensively, Golderberg put on a clinic against of the best arms in the country at this year's Future Games with multiple hits in all three games.

Risers

The summer and fall of 2020 saw a flood of new talent make a name for themselves. These three below led the way with some impressive performances, jumping into the top 15.

Nick English C / 3B / Olathe South, KS / 2023

Elite catchers are always in demand and Nick English proved this summer that he is one of the most technically sound catch-and throw-catchers of his class in the Midwest. The recent Texas A&M commit posted showcase pop times as low as 1.96 at the BC Scout Day. Offensively, the right-handed hitter has an all-fields and flat approach with the ability to control his barrel even against elite pitching.

Dylan Blazer SS / 2B / Mill Valley , KS / 2023

The quick footed and strong armed middle infielder rises up our rankings after a strong summer. The now 6-foot-2, 170-pound right-hander continues to grow into his frame and has added more pop at the plate with an athletic swing.

Noah Barber OF / SS / Blue Valley North, KS / 2023

The 6-foot-2, 165-pound lean, projectable, and athletic outfielder continues to get better every time we see him, shaving time off his 60 now down to 7.02, adding arm strength now up to 85 mph, and taking clearer rounds of BP. Barber shows no signs of slowing down in his development and is a prospect to follow.

Newcomers

With one of the biggest expansions in PBR history, we saw over 70 player join the KS Class of 2023 rankings. Below are the top 3, but make sure to check out the rakings for numerus other top prospects. With Crawford covered in the top 3, he will not be covered here.

Austin Young RHP / 3B / Blue Valley West , KS / 2023

It doesn't take a dreamer to see the projection in the young 6-foot-2, 160-pound right-hander. Young works from a simple, controlled, and repeatable delivery and shows a clean and quick arm circle which will allow him to command the zone and add much more velo down the road. Young jumps into this edition of the rankings in the top 10.

Gabe Fender 3B / St. Thomas Aquinas, KS / 2023

Also joining the rankings in the top 10 is 5-10, 185-pound third baseman, Gabe Fender. Fender shows advanced strength and bat speed from the right-side using a short stroke and creating lots of rotational torque. Defensively, Fender plays low to the ground and has advanced arm strength from a short arm stoke.

Hunter Spencer C / OF / Seaman , KS / 2023

Catcher Spencer Hunter enters the rankings in the top 15 after showing impressive numbers on both sides of the ball at the BC Scout Day. Defensively, Spencer showed a wide range up pop times, but had a few as low at 1.95 with a top velo of 74 mph to second base. Offensively, the right handed hitter ran a 7.16 60 and posted an exit velo of 86 mph, using a dynamic and athletic swing producing hard and flat contact.
