Kentucky Team of the Week: Christian Academy-Louisville

By Chris Fuller

After a 2-1 victory over Collins on April 8, Christian Academy-Louisville improved to 10-4 on the year and checked into the Power 25 for the first time this season.  What followed was a five-game losing streak that knocked them out of the Power 25 and left them just a game over .500 at 10-9 on the season.

They righted the ship in a big way last week.

The Centurions had a 4-0 week to improve to 14-9 on the year, but simply stating they had an undefeated week last week is only telling part of the story as three of the four wins came against highly-ranked teams in the Power 25.

The week began with a 5-4 district win over No. 10 Ballard which set the stage for an impressive weekend in the Louisville Invitational Tournament.

On Friday, CAL cruised to a 10-0 win over Muhlenberg County and followed that up with two wins on Saturday, a 12-5 rout of No. 12 Beechwood and a 3-1 win over No. 1 Tates Creek.

The Centurions will attempt to continue their winning ways with a 5:00 home game this evening with Kentucky Country Day.

For their performance on the field last week, the CAL Centurions have been named this week’s Prep Baseball Report Kentucky Team of the Week.
