Saturday March 23rd

No. 1 Archbishop Spalding 7, Noble and Greenough (MA) 2
+ Nate Vermillion went 5 innings on the mound for the Cavaliers allowing just one run on three hits while striking out five and walking none. Noah Mrotek (6th) and Josh Moylan (7th) closed out the game. Austen Bishop led the offense with a double and three RBI's.

No. 7 Georgetown Prep 6, No. 2 Calvert Hall 4
+ Georgetown Prep held off a late surge by Calvert Hall in the bottom of the 7th to get the win. Cian Sahler started for the Hoyas and went five and two-thirds, allowing just one run on four hits while striking out three  and Brian Depman closed out it out. TJ Williams (2-3, 2RBI's), Travis Rinker (2-4), and Emmet Scanlon (2-3, 2 RBI's) led the Hoyas offensively with Max Kaye scoring two runs on the day. Jose Torres led the way offensively for Calvert Hall going 2-4 with and RBI and run scored and Alex Khan took the loss on the bump.

No. 5 Huntingtown 18, North Point 1
+ Ryan Terrents pitched three scoreless innings allowing two hits and one walk while striking out three for the win in the Hurricanes season opener. Brian Ferrira and Ethan Poore closed things out on the mound. Cy Harwood went 2-3 to lead the offense.

No. 8 Loyola-Blakefield 11, St. Paul's 0
+ Nate Beal and Stephen Schenning combined to for the shutout. Beal went 4 innings allowing no runs on no hits while striking out eight. Schenning pitched the 5th and 6th in the run-rule shortened game allowing no runs on one hit and struck out two. Dominic Dinoto was 2-2 with 3 runs, walked twice and had 1 RBI. Jeffrey Snider went 2-4 with 3 RBI's and scored 1 run.  Beal was also 2-4 at the plate with 2 RBI's and Emmett Reynolds went big fly for 2 RBI's.

No. 9 Sherwood 4, Churchill 0
+ Luke Cheng, Ian Brady, and Ben Vok combined to throw a two-hit shutout in the season opener. Cheng went 3.2 IP and picked up the win striking out 4 Bulldogs hitters along the way. Brady threw 2.1 clean innings with 4 K's and Vok closed the game in the 7th with two K's of his own.

No. 11 Boonsboro 19, South Hagerstown 2
+ Adam Mathias threw three shutout innings with no hits and four strikeouts. Aaron Hartle and Peyton Mason both led the offense with three hits and four RBI's each. Josh DeRocher added three hits of his own while driving in three and Mathias also drive three runs in. 

No. 14 Northern (Cal.) 18, Thomas Stone 0
+ Marcus Lee-Sang led the way on offense for the Patriots with two doubles and two homeruns. Matt Jarman finished with two doubles and a grand slam while Mason Davidson and Nick White each added two hits of their own. Marcus and Brian Freschi combined to pitch the shutout in the season opener.
