Team Breakdown

The Cavaliers break into the 2022 season with one of, if not the most well-rounded teams in the MIAA. On the bump, the Cavaliers look to replace one of the more dynamic arms in the MIAA a year ago in Noah Mrotek (Maryland). Coach Palumbo has the depth needed to do so, as Parker Thomas (ECU), Eddie Sargent (UMBC), Cody Sharman (Seton Hall), and Beau Haslinger (Marymount) look to lead the pitching staff this year. Look for Senior righties Zach Ford and Braeden Piotrowski to log some well added innings this year, as well as Junior righty Kyle Emmons and the emergence of Sophomore standout Jake Yeager. Offensively, the Cavaliers lose two key bats in Thomas Joseph (Navy) and Ben Wieman (Frostburg State), however bring back a plethora of offensive threats with another year of experience led by Caleb Estes (Maryland), Parker Thomas (ECU) and Ethan McNally (JMU). Look for Kyle Garrett (Shenandoah), Brady Hannon, Braeden Piotrowski, Eddie Sargent (UMBC), and Cody Sharman (Seton Hall) to bring Coach Palumbo some eye-opening depth throughout this dynamic lineup.

Team Breakdown

Head Coach Lou Eckerl has announced that he will be retiring at seasons end after 21 years at the helm of the Calvert Hall Cardinals. This season, Coach Eckerl will look to his four upperclassmen arms in Jack Kerr, Steven Mufareh (Southern Wesleyan), Ryan Perry, and Ryan Siefert to bring stability to the rotation. Offensively, The Cardinals return a plethora of explosive bats led by the likes of Lamar King (Georgia Tech), Chase Davalli, Jake Butler (George Mason), John Harris and EJ Hankerson. Look for Jack Kerr, Ryan Perry and Ryan Haney to bring depth throughout the lineup and give Coach Eckerl consistent quality at-bats throughout the season.

Team Breakdown

Coach Larry Sheets enters the 2022 season on a high note, as he led his Gilman Greyhounds to a MIAA "A" Conference title a season ago. Now, with several key players graduated from that Championship team, including Peter Heubeck (Los Angeles Dodgers), Casey Bishop (Towson), Ryan Martinez (San Francisco) and Matt Leikus (James Madison); Coach Sheets will have a much different looking roster in 2022. On the bump, look for Seniors Alex Garrison, Trevor Khouzami and Junior Cooper Sidell to lead to pitching rotation, with the emergence of one of the most highly anticipated and projectable Freshman in the state in Peyton Miller (Clemson) to log some well needed innings for the Greyhounds this season. Offensively, Garrison and Miller will also lead the charge with the bat, with Adam Hicks, Riley Holcomb (Occidental), Danny Leikus, Colin McPherson, Blake Paquette, and power hitting Wyatt Randolph to add depth throughout the lineup.
