MOKAN Top Prospects: Infielders Edition

The MoKan Top Prospect Games took place on June 22nd at Creekside Baseball Park in Parkville Missouri. A full event of 53 players, including some of the top players from the 2022 graduating class, showed out with some eye popping numbers. 

The top laser timed 60 amongst the infielders belonged to Drew Lippold with a time of 6.77 seconds.  Jeremy Sheffield posted a 60 time of 6.90 with Ethan Edinger right behind him at 6.91 seconds.  The top infield arm across the diamond was posted by a trio of Jake Daneff, Ethan Edinger, and Dylan Grego working it 85 mph across the diamond.  Ethan Edinger posted the top exit velocity off the tee at an eye popping 97 mph.  Jeremy Sheffield put up a 95 mph exit velocity with Parker Griffith right behind him at 94 mph.  Edinger popped triple digits reaching 100 mph exit velocity during the BP session with Jeremiah Cabuyaban right behind him at 97 mph.

Aiden Brooks 3B / RHP / Park Hill, MO / 2022

Positional Profile: 3B/RHP

Body: 6-foot, 185-pound athletic and proportional build with room for more strength and size in the frame in the future.

Hit: RHH.  At the plate starts with a neutral stance and upright posture with a vertical bat angle.  Simple and traditional stride with the foot getting down early with slight drift of the lower half into a firm front leg.  Rotational bat path with a strong top hand finish.  Pull side approach with a level bat path.  Early extension with the hands and works the ball out in front of the plate.  Maintains balance throughout the swing.  Hands work quickly through the zone and does a good job of matching plane with the pitch.

Power: 90 mph exit velocity off the tee and 90 mph exit velocity in BP.

Arm: RH.  INF-74 MPH.  High ¾ arm slot with a long arm action and short release.

Defense: In the infield attacks the ball with short and choppy steps and a feel for working around the ball.  Fields the ball with developing glove action and firm glove.  Funnels the ball back into the chest with clean transfers out of the glove.

Run: 7.13 runner in the 60.

Jeremiah Cabuyaban C / 3B / Liberty, MO / 2022

Positional Profile: C/3B

Body: 6-foot, 220-pound mature and stocky frame with present strength.

Hit: RHH. At the plate starts with a neutral stance and athletic posture.  Two tap stride with with good weight transfer into a firm front leg.  Gets good push off the back leg and can manipulate the lower half to get underneath pitches at the bottom of the zone to match plane.  Slight uphill bat path with linear direction with the hands. Gets good extension and shows a strong line drive approach.  Has present strength at contact and projects for future power potential.  Quick hands with very good overall bat speed.

Power: 91 mph exit velocity off the tee and 97 mph exit velocity in BP.

Arm: RH.  INF-82 MPH.  C-72 MPH.  Pop Times: 1.95-2.19. ¾ arm slot with a short arm action and strong recoil release.

Defense: In the infield attacks the ball with aggressive rhythm and a feel for working around the ball.  Shows the ability to field the ball on the run under control.  Quiet hands and good fielding position.  Behind the plate receives the ball with one knee down and leg out away from the body.  Quick transfers out of the glove with the feet working into the third base side.  Throws had good accuracy and carry to the bag.  Strong blocking techniques with good posture and hip flexibility. 

Run: 7.38 runner in the 60.

Cameron Christy RHP / Shawnee Mission Northwest , KS / 2022

Positional Profile: 3B/RHP

Body: 6-foot-2, 195-pound physical and mature frame.

Hit: Switch.  At the plate from the right side starts with a neutral stance and crouched posture and vertical bat angle.  Sinks into the back side knee and utilizes a leg kick stride to an athletic base.  Short linear shift into a firm front leg and strong rotational upper half with slight lean back on contact.  Much more simplified from the left side with a shorter stride and more of an upright posture.  Short routes to the ball with an uphill bat path.

Power: 86 mph exit velocity off the tee and 87 mph exit velocity in BP.

Arm: RH.  INF-70 MPH.  High ¾ arm slot with a short arm action.

Defense: In the infield attacks the ball with short and choppy lateral movements.  Fields the ball out in front of the body with developing glove action and a firm glove.  Controls the body throughout the process.

Run: 7.76 runner in the 60.

Jeffery Cisneros 3B / 1B / Liberty North, MO / 2022

Positional Profile: 3B

Body: 6-foot-3, 185-pound long and athletic build with present strength.

Hit: RHH.  At the plate starts with a an open stance and narrow base.  Hands get set below shoulder height with a high back elbow.  Simple leg lift stride back to neutral with a coiled upper body.  Long levered swing and gets good extension on balls down in the zone.  Barrel stays in the zone for a long time.  Good balance throughout the swing.  Hands work quickly through the zone with good leverage and current strength at contact.  

Power: 92 mph exit velocity off the tee and 95 mph exit velocity in BP.

Arm: RH.  INF-83 MPH.  High ¾ arm slot with a short arm action and good hand speed.

Defense: In the infield attacks the ball with longer strides and aggressive rhythm.  Shows a feel for glove action out in front of the body with soft hands.  Shows the ability to field the ball on the run and also strong lateral range.  Plays underneath the ball well for a bigger infielder.

Run: 7.29 runner in the 60.

Jake Daneff SS / RHP / Park Hill, MO / 2022

Positional Profile: MIF/RHP

Body: 5-foot-11, 160-pound lean and athletic frame with room for added strength and size in the future.

Hit: LHH.  At the plate starts with a slightly open stance and athletic posture.  Rhythmic two tap  stride back to neutral.  Strong weight shift into a bent back leg with good linear direction in the lower half to a firm front leg.  Short and compact swing with good routes to the ball.  Very easy mechanics and does a good job of repeating throughout the round of batting practice.  Level bat path and shows the ability to get extended with good routes to the ball.  Has some strength at contact with quick hands through the zone.  Good balance throughout the swing.

Power: 88 mph exit velocity off the tee and 91 mph exit velocity in BP.

Arm: RH.  INF 85 MPH.   High ¾ arm slot with a long and clean arm action with good hand speed.

Defense: In the infield attacks the ball with smooth rhythm and longer strides.  Shows a feel for working around the ball with rhythm.  Fields the ball out in front of the body with good glove action and soft hands.  Clean transfers out of the glove.

Run: 7.36 runner in the 60.

Ethan Edinger SS / RHP / Troy Buchanan , MO / 2022

Positional Profile: MIF

Body: 5-foot-11, 180-pound athletic and physical frame with current strength.

Hit: RHH.  At the plate starts with a neutral stance and athletic posture with a vertical bat angle and high back elbow.  Short stride to a wider base with short rock into the back leg for a load.  Linear direction with the lower half working into a firm front leg.  Clean path through the zone with an uphill bat path.  Has current strength at contact with good extension especially to the pull side.  Quick hands through the zone with advanced bat speed metrics up to 81 mph.  Good balance throughout the swing.

Power: 97 mph exit velocity off the tee and 100 mph exit velocity in BP.

Arm: INF-85 MPH.  High ¾ arm slot with a clean arm action.

Defense: In the infield attacks the ball with smooth rhythm and solid glove action and soft hands.  Clean exchanges out of the glove with good body control throughout the fielding process.  Very solid actions.

Run: 6.91 runner in the 60.

Dylan Grego SS / 2B / Staley, MO / 2022

Positional Profile: MIF

Body: 6-foot-1, 160-pound long and projectable build with more room for size and strength to the frame in the future.  

Hit: Switch.  At the plate starts with a slightly open stance and athletic posture with a flat bat angle.  Knee knock stride with good weight stack onto the back leg.  Long levered swing with strength at contact getting good extension with leverage.  From the left side works more of a two tap stride with a little more rhythm with the hands.  Hands work quickly through the zone with a strong ability to match plane with the pitch by manipulating the lower half well.  Good balance throughout the swing from both sides of the plate.

Power: 86 mph exit velocity off the tee and 92 mph exit velocity in BP.

Arm: RH.  INF-85 MPH.  ¾ arm slot with a clean arm action and good hand speed.

Defense: In the infield attacks the ball with bouncy rhythm and a feel for working around the ball.  Fields the ball out in front of the body with good glove action and soft hands.  Plays underneath the ball really well.  Showed a very good slow roller technique with clean exchanges out of the glove and an ability to throw on the run with rhythm.

Run: 7.09 runner in the 60.

Parker Griffith C / 1B / Lee's Summit West, MO / 2022

Positional Profile: C/1B

Body: 5-foot-11, 195-pound physical frame with present strength especially in the lower half.

Hit: RHH.  At the plate starts with a slightly open stance and upright posture.  Rocking load into the lower half with hands working back to just below shoulder height with a high back elbow.  Slow leg kick stride with foot hovering over the ground as the weight shifts linearly through the zone to a firm front leg.  Uphill bat path and tries to work the ball up in the air especially to the pull side.  Will go after the lower pitch by sinking deeper into the lower half.  Has some current strength at contact.

Power: 94 mph exit velocity off the tee and 93 mph exit velocity in BP.

Arm: RH.  INF-70 MPH.  C-70 MPH.  Pop Times: 2.14-2.31.  High ¾ arm slot with a short arm action and release.

Defense: Behind the plate shows solid receiving skills with strong wrists and minimal body movement.  Works straight up out of the crouch with hips and shoulders getting turned to second base in sync.  Throws were mostly accurate to the bag with developing carry.  Solid blocking technique with good posture.  In the infield shows good footwork around the bag with a good strong fielding position.  Hips and feet work in sync when turning to make the throws to second.  Fields with a sure glove.

Run: 7.71 runner in the 60.

Jackson Herbel 2B / SS / Basehor, KS / 2022

Positional Profile: MIF

Body: 5-foot-11, 166-pound lean and developing frame with room for added strength and size in the future.

Hit: RHH.  At the plate starts with an open stance and athletic posture.  Slow load into the lower half with short linear weight shift into a soft front leg.  Clean routes to the ball with good extension.  Smooth rhythm throughout the swing with good balance.  Linear swing but keeps head behind the ball at contact.  Slight uphill bat path and tries to work the ball up in the air.  Quick hands through the zone with strong rotational acceleration metrics according to Blast Sensor.

Power: 90 mph exit velocity in BP.

Arm: RH.  INF-77 MPH. ¾ arm slot with clean arm action and release.

Defense: In the infield attacks the ball with longer strides and smooth rhythm.  Shows a feel for working around the ball with proper footwork.  Plays underneath the ball well with good glove action and soft hands.  Fields the ball on the run well and has clean exchanges out of the glove.

Run: 7.35 runner in the 60.

Nick Hooper 3B / SS / Grain Valley , MO / 2022

Positional Profile: 3B

Body: 6-foot-2, 190-pound large and physical frame.

Hit: RHH.  At the plate starts with a wide base and crouched posture.  No stride lower half with slight knee turn for rhythm.  Weight rocks into the back leg with strong push off the back foot in a linear direction.  Vertical bat angle with a rotational upper body and top hand strong finish.  Pull side approach with a flat bat angle.  Will manipulate the lower half to work underneath balls at the bottom of the zone.  

Power: 83 mph exit velocity off the tee and 90 mph exit velocity in BP.

Arm: RH. INF-74 MPH.  ¾ arm slot with a short arm action.

Defense: In the infield attacks the ball with short and choppy steps and lateral footwork.   Fields the ball out in front of the body with developing glove action and a firm glove.  Plays underneath the ball well for a larger frame.

Run: 7.34 runner in the 60.

Samuel Hunt RHP / 3B / Lees Summit West, MO / 2022

Positional Profile: 3B/RHP

Body: 5-foot-11, 175-pound athletic and stocky build.

Hit: RHH.  At the plate starts with a neutral stance and athletic posture in the upper body with weight pre-shifted into the back side.  Knee-knock leg kick stride with rhythmic movements with the hands geting set back with 45 degree bat angle.  Works to a solid base with lower half working linearly to a firm front leg.  Uphill bat path and tries to work the ball up in the air.  Hands work quickly through the zone with good overall bat speed.  Strong rotational acceleration metrics.  Maintains balance throughout the swing.

Power: 88 mph exit velocity off the tee and 89 mph exit velocity in BP.

Arm: RH.  INF-81 MPH.  High ¾ arm slot with a short/quick arm action.

Defense: In the infield attacks the ball with lateral footwork and sets the shoulders in line with the target in the fielding position.  Plays underneath the ball really well and shows a feel for glove action out in front of the body with soft hands.  Good body control throughout the fielding process.

Run: 7.16 runner in the 60.

Christopher Kemp 2B / RHP / Park Hill, MO / 2022

Positional Profile: MIF/RHP

Body: 5-foot-10, 165-pound lean and developing build with room for added strength and size in the future.

Hit: RHH.  At the plate starts with a slightly open stance and upright posture with the upper body.  Uses a leg kick stride back to neutral with hands working back into position at shoulder height.  Linear swing with weight drifting into a firm front leg.  Weight is stacked on top of the front foot at contact point.  Flat bat path with a line drive approach.  Shows quick hands through the zone.  Maintains balance throughout the swing. 

Power: 87 mph exit velocity off the tee and 86 mph exit velocity in BP.

Arm: RH.  INF-74 MPH.  ¾ arm slot with a short arm action and release.  

Defense: In the infield attacks the ball with aggressive rhythm and footwork.  Shows a feel for working around the ball with momentum headed towards the target.  Shows a developing feel for glove action out in front of the body with a firm glove.  Fields the ball on the run well with a clean exchange on the slow roller.

Run: 7.47 runner in the 60.

Jonas Konrade SS / OF / Lebo , KS / 2022

Positional Profile: MIF/OF

Body: 6-foot, 180-pound athletic build with present strength.

Hit: RHH.  At the plate starts with a wide base and crouched posture.  Short weight shift into the back leg with rocking weight transfer into a soft front leg.  Flat bat angle and slightly wrapped around the head.  Rotational bat path and attacks the ball out in front of the plate. Hands work quickly through the zone according to Blast Sensor.  Level bat path and line drive approach.  Has some strength at contact.

Power: 88 mph exit velocity off the tee and 94 mph exit velocity in BP.

Arm: RH.  INF-73 MPH.  OF-74 MPH.  High ¾ arm slot with short arm action.

Defense: In the outfield attacks the ball with short and choppy footwork.  Fields the ball on the inside of the glove side leg with developing glove action.  Shuffle style crow hop technique.  In the infield attacks the ball with aggressive rhythm and footwork.  Works direct routes to the ball and fields with a firm glove. 

Run: 7.36 runner in the 60.

AJ Kreutzer 1B / LHP / Oskaloosa , KS / 2022

Positional Profile: 1B/LHP

Body: 6-foot-1, 175-pound long and lean frame with room for added strength and size in the future.

Hit: LHH.  At the plate starts with a neutral stance and upright posture.  Hands get set below shoulder height with a vertical bat angle.  Short leg kick stride with weight transferring into the lower half with a slight knee bend.  Short weight shift into a firm front leg.  Maintains upright posture throughout the swing.  Uphill bat path with a strong top hand finish.  Hands work quickly through the zone and showed the ability to drive line drives to both gaps during the BP session.

Power: 72 mph exit velocity off the tee and 85 mph exit velocity in BP.

Arm: INF-74 MPH.   High ¾ arm slot with a long arm action and release.  

Defense: In the infield shows a soft glove and a feel for glove action.  Feet work well around the bag and fields with a sure glove.  Strong backhand technique with clean exchanges out of the glove. 

Run: 7.36 runner in the 60.

Drew Lippold SS / 2B / Shawnee Mission West, KS / 2022

Positional Profile: MIF

Body: 5-foot-11, 180-pound athletic frame with present strength.

Hit: RHH.  At the plate starts with a wide base and athletic posture.  Vertical bat angle with slight rock into the lower half for the load.  Simple stride to wider base with some linear direction in the lower half working to a firm front leg.  Short and compact route to the ball with the hands working to the inside part of the ball.  Slight lean back on the front leg at contact.  Has quick hands through the zone with good overall bat speed.  Strong rotational acceleration metrics according to Blast Sensor.

Power: 90 mph exit velocity off the tee and 93 mph exit velocity in BP.

Arm: RH.  INF-82 MPH.  Over the top arm slot with a clean arm action. 

Defense: In the infield attacks the ball with smooth rhythm.  Shows solid glove action and fields the ball with a soft glove.  Shows good lateral range to both the forehand and back hand sides.  Clean transfers out of the glove.  Fields the ball on the run with good rhythm and body positioning. 

Run: 6.77 runner in the 60.

Andrew Lock C / 1B / Blue Valley , KS / 2022

Positional Profile: C/1B

Body: 6-foot, 150-pound long and lean frame with room to add strength and size in the future.

Hit: RHH.  At the plate starts with a neutral stance and crouched posture.  Pre shifts weight into the back side with slight lean into the lower half to go along with a flat bat angle.  Strong weight transfer to a firm front side with good balance throughout the swing.  Hands work quickly through the zone with a slight uphill bat path working the ball up in the air.  Hands work away from the body in a rotational plane.  

Power: 82 mph exit velocity off the tee and 86 mph exit velocity in BP.

Arm: RH.  INF-70 MPH.  C-66 MPH.  Pop Times: 2.17-2.32.  High ¾ arm slot with a short arm action.

Defense: In the infield shows active feet and feel around the bag.  Fields the ball with good glove action and soft hands.  Maintains body control throughout the fielding process.

Run: 7.48 runner in the 60.

Russell Lucas III SS / RHP / Shawnee Mission Northwest, KS / 2022

Positional Profile: MIF/RHP

Body: 5-foot-9, 185-pound stocky build with present strength especially in the lower half.  

Hit: RHH.  At the plate starts with a neutral stance and narrow base with an upright posture.  Short leg kick stride with weight stacked onto a tall back leg.  Slight drift into a firm front leg maintaining upright posture and narrow base throughout the swing.  Rhythmic swing with some strength at contact.  Rotational bat path and plays the ball out in front of the plate to a pull side approach.

Power: 85 mph exit velocity off the tee and 91 mph exit velocity in BP.

Arm: RH.  INF-82 MPH.  ¾ arm slot with a short and clean arm action.

Defense: In the infield attacks the ball with shorter steps and smooth rhythm.  Shows a feel for glove action out in front of the body and fields with a soft glove.  Fields the ball with a high waist bend.  Solid slow roller technique with clean exchanges out of the glove.

Run: 8.10 runner in the 60.

Austin Nitcher 3B / 2B / Ottawa, KS / 2022

Positional Profile: 3B/MIF

Body: 5-foot-9, 165-pound lean and athletic frame with room for added strength and size in the future.

Hit: RHH. At the plate starts with a neutral stance and athletic posture with a flat bat angle.  Slight presetting of the weight into the back leg at set up.  Short weight rock into the back leg and quickly into a soft front leg.  Short and compact stroke with hands working to the inside part of the ball.  Maintains balance throughout the swing and controls the body at every point in the swing.  Level bat path with a line drive approach.  Does a good job of matching plane with the pitch.  Feel for the barrel in the zone.  

Power: 86 mph exit velocity off the tee and 87 mph exit velocity in BP.

Arm: RH.  INF-82 MPH.  ¾ arm slot with a clean arm action and good hand speed.

Defense: In the infield attacks the ball with smooth rhythm and a feel for working around the ball with momentum headed to the target.  Fields the ball out in front of the body with good glove action and soft hands.  Clean exchanges out of the glove and shows the ability to range laterally.  Good slow roller technique.

Frank Palma 2B / C / Liberty North, MO / 2022

Positional Profile: MIF

Body: 5-foot-9, 165-pound lean and developing frame with room for added strength and size in the future.

Hit: RHH.  At the plate starts with a neutral stance and upright posture with a flat bat angle.   Two tap stride with quick pace and short weight stack onto a bent back leg.  Lower half turns rotationally on the back leg with a rotational bat path and strong top hand finish.  Maintains balance throughout the swing.  Feel for barrel in the zone and takes good routes to the ball.  Short and compact swing and shows the ability to drive the ball gap to gap with a line drive approach.

Power: 84 mph exit velocity off the tee and 86 mph exit velocity in BP.

Arm: RH. INF-72 MPH.  High ¾ arm slot with a short arm action.

Defense: In the infield attacks the ball with lateral footwork and short and choppy steps.  Very quick exchanges out of the glove.  Shows a feel for glove action and a soft glove.  Fields the ball on the run well with a solid slow roller technique.

Run: 7.25 runner in the 60.

Cade Perkins LHP / OF / Manhattan , KS / 2022

Positional Profile: 1B/OF/LHP

Body: 6-foot-1, 175-pound athletic and projectable frame with room for added strength and size in the future.  

Hit: LHH.  At the plate starts with a slightly open stance and upright posture.  Short weight stack with weight landing 50/50 between the feet at contact point.  Short and simple swing and repeats the mechanics well.  Quick twitch swing with a feel for the barrel in the zone.  Has some strength at contact.  Maintains balance throughout the swing.  Hands work quickly through the zone and shows elite bat speed metrics according to the Blast Motion sensor. 

Power: 85 mph exit velocity off the tee and 92 mph exit velocity in BP.

Arm: LH.  INF-81 MPH.  OF-84 MPH.  High ¾ arm slot with a clean arm action and good hand speed.

Defense: In the infield  shows active feet and a feel for footwork around the bag.  Fields the ball a soft glove and shows the ability to change arm slots when the play dictates it.  In the outfield attacks the ball with smooth rhythm and footwork.  Plays behind the ball well on fly balls.  Works a step behind crow hop technique with good momentum headed towards the target.

Run: 7.01 runner in the 60.

JC Putnam 1B / 3B / Rock Bridge, MO / 2022

Positional Profile: 1B

Body: 6-foot-3, 190-pound physical frame with present strength.

Hit: RHH.  At the plate starts with a slightly open stance and athletic posture with the upper body.  Presets the weight into a tall back leg.  Short leg kick stride with slight weight drift into the front side with the lower half.  Hands work close to the body with a short and compact stroke.  Level bat path and line drive approach.  More of a pull side approach with head staying behind the ball at contact.  Shows quick hands through the zone and good overall bat speed..

Power: 89 mph exit velocity off the tee and 91 mph exit velocity in BP.

Arm: RH.  INF-75 MPH. High ¾ arm slot with a clean arm action.

Defense: In the infield shows the ability to work hard off the bag with strong lower half.  Fields the ball deep into the body with developing glove action and a firm glove.  Clean exchanges out of the glove and shows the ability to field the ball well on the move.

Landon Reith LHP / OF / De Soto, KS / 2022

Positional Profile: 1B/OF/LHP

Body: 6-foot-1, 160-pound long and lean projectable build with room for added strength and size in the future.

Hit: RHH.  At the plate starts with a neutral stance and wide base.  Short weight stack onto a bent back leg.  Very short two tap stride to a balanced base.  Even weight distribution between the feet at contact.  Level bat path with a line drive approach.  Short extension with more of a pull side approach.  Hands work quickly through the zone.  Strong rotational acceleration metrics with some strength at contact.  

Power: 82 mph exit velocity off the tee and 90 mph exit velocity in BP.

Arm: LH.  INF-75 MPH.  OF-75 MPH.  High ¾ arm slot with a short arm action.  

Defense: In the outfield attacks the ball with short and choppy footwork and rhythm.  Fields the ball on the outside of the glove side leg with developing glove action and firm glove.  Step behind crow hop technique.  In the infield shows active feet and fields the ball out in front of the body with a softer glove.  Shows solid footwork around the bag and shows the ability to field the ball on the run with clean exchanges out of the glove.

Run: 7.35 runner in the 60.

Jeremy Sheffield OF / SS / Westminster, MO / 2022

Positional Profile: OF/MIF

Body: 6-foot-4, 181-pound athletic and projectable frame.

Hit: RHH.  At the plate starts with a slightly open stance and upright posture.  Slight weight stack into the backside with short leg kick stride.  Quiet hands with a vertical bat angle.  Hands work hard to the inside part of the ball.  Short weight transfer into a firm front leg with even weight distribution between the feet at contact.  Solid sync with the lower half and hands working together.  Shows some strength at contact.  Level bat path and line drive approach.  Very quick hands working through the zone with good overall bat speed.  Very strong rotational acceleration metrics with quick turn of the core.  

Power: 95 mph exit velocity off the tee and 95 mph exit velocity in BP.

Arm: RH.  INF-84 MPH.  OF-89 MPH.  High ¾ arm slot with a short and quick arm action with good hand speed. 

Defense: In the infield  attacks the ball with smooth rhythm and body control.  Fields the ball out in front with good glove action and soft hands.  Clean exchanges out of the glove and shows the ability to field the ball on the run.  In the outfield attacks the ball with aggressive footwork and rhythm.  Fields the ball on the outside of the glove side leg with some glove action.  Step behind crow hop technique with strong momentum headed towards the target.

Hit: RHH.  At the plate starts with a neutral stance and upright posture with the hands getting set above shoulder height.  Slight rock into the back leg utilizing a short two tap stride.  Rotational lower half with weight finishing with even weight distribution between the feet at contact.  Slight uphill bat path with a whippy barrel through the zone.  Pull side approach with long levered swing.  Maintains balance throughout the swing.

Body: 5-foot-7, 155-pound lean and developing frame with room for added strength and size in the future.

Hit: RHH.  At the plate starts with a neutral stance and upright posture with a flat bat angle. Slow two tap stride with hands getting set as the front foot works to strike. Rocks the weight into the back leg with a rotational lower body.  Short and compact swing with the hands working in a rotational path.   Pull side approach with even weight distribution between the feet at contact.  Maintains balance throughout the swing. 

Power: 82 mph exit velocity off the tee and 86 mph exit velocity in BP.

Arm: RH.  INF-75 MPH.  OF-78 MPH.  High ¾ arm slot with a short arm action.

Defense: In the infield attacks the ball with direct routes and short and choppy footwork.  Fields the ball deep into the body with a developing feel for glove action and a firm glove.  In the outfield attacks the ball with good body control and good routes to the ball.  Works behind the ball well and utilizes a quick shuffle style crow hop with clean exchanges out of the glove.

Body: 6-foot-1, 205-pound physical and mature frame.

Hit: RHH.  At the plate starts with a neutral stance and slightly crouched posture.  Hands get set deep into the body with a high back elbow and wrapped barrel.  Short stride to a wide base.  Slight weight drift into a firm front side.  Slight uphill bat path with whippy barrel action.  Attacks the ball out in front of the plate with a pull side approach.  Finishes with an upright posture and maintains balance throughout the swing.  Does a good job of matching plane with the pitch.  

Power: 82 mph exit velocity off the tee and 85 mph exit velocity in BP.

Arm: RH. INF-78 MPH.  High ¾ arm slot with a short arm action. 

Defense: In the infield fields the ball with a soft glove and a feel for glove action.  Feet work well around the bag and gets body turned in sync on throws to second.  Shows the ability to field the ball on the run with clean exchanges out of the glove.

Lane Tyson RHP / 2B / New Convenant, MO / 2022

Positional Profile: MIF/RHP

Body: 5-foot-11, 165-pound athletic build with room for added strength and size in the future.

Hit: RHH.  At the plate starts with a neutral stance and athletic posture.  Simple stride with weight rocking in and out of the lower half quickly.  Linear direction with the lower half working to a firm front leg.  Hands bounce a little when getting set into position.  Works the hands hard to the inside part of the ball with a short and compact stroke.  Plays the ball deep into the swing and shows the ability to work the ball to all fields.  

Power: 85 mph exit velocity off the tee and 87 mph exit velocity in BP.

Arm: RH.  INF-72 MPH.  ¾ arm slot with short arm action.

Hit: RHH.  At the plate starts with a neutral stance and wide base.  Short and simple stride with short weight stack onto the back leg.  Slightly wrapped barrel angle with rotational bat path. Slight coil with the hips and shoulders inward.  Plays the ball out in front of the plate with a strong top hand finish.  Shows some strength at contact with high effort in the swing.  Hands work quickly through the zone and consistently barrelled balls with hard contact during the BP session.

Power: 89 mph exit velocity off the tee and 96 mph exit velocity in BP.

Arm: RH.  INF-74 MPH.  High ¾ arm slot with a stiff arm action.  

Defense: In the infield shows solid footwork around the bag with good lateral range.  Fields the ball out in front of the body with developing glove action and a firm glove.

Body: 6-foot-2, 160-pound long and lean build with room for added strength and size to the frame in the future.

Hit: RHH.  At the plate starts with a neutral stance and crouched posture.  Heavy crunch into the backside into a bent back leg.  Strong linear direction with the lower half into a firm front leg.  Whippy bat path working slightly uphill.  Gets good extension and attacks the ball out in front of the plate.  Hands work close to the body with direct routes to the ball.  Gets the most out of the lower half.  Finishes the swing on balance.

Power: 86 mph exit velocity off the tee and 87 mph exit velocity in BP.
