March 27 Daily Game Roundup

#1 New Albany 8 David Lipscomb (TN) 4 – New Albany bet the defending Tennessee State Champs thanks to the pitching of Jordan Striegel and Josh Rogers. Streigel got the win going four innings allowing just three hits and striking out nine, he also drove in three runs. Rogers picked up the save going two and one third innings striking out six. Logan Streigel was 4-5 with two RBI, Tucker Marcum was 3-3, and Garrett Sherrell was 2-4 with two RBI.

#2 Lake Central 1 Bishop Noll 0 - Jimmy McNamara went six innings striking out 12 and allowing three hits. Taylor Lehnert earned the save striking out all three in the 7th. Austen Wagoner had two hits for Lake Central.

#10 Homestead 18 FW Northside 0 – Jake Weber got the win going four innings allowing just one hit and striking out three. Weber also had two hits, three RBI, and a homerun. Andre Jernigan also had two hits, a double and homerun, and drove in four. Josh Caccamo and Volz also homered for Homestead, Caccamo was 3-3 with four RBI and Volz was 2-3 with three RBI.

#11 Brownsburg 18 Plainfield 2

#12 Huntington North 16 FW Snider 5 – Evan Brown picked up the win after Huntington North put up 11 runs in the top of the fifth. Brown also had two doubles in the game and Kendall Whitman had a triple.

#15 Crown Point 16 Warsaw 5 – Crown Point had a big offense day busting out 17 hits and scoring 11 runs in the third inning. Jake Lindeman picked up the victory.

#20 Lawrence North 6 Center Grove 1 – Nick Weybright got the winning throwing all seven innings allowing five hits, no earned runs, and striking out eight. Craig Larew and Mark Brown both had two hits, including a double. Brown also scored twice and had a RBI.

#23 Avon 17 Cascade 3

Mooresville 14 #25 Greenwood 6

Lafayette Central Catholic 7 Western 3 – Austin Munn picked up the win going five innings, allowing four hits, and striking out eight. Andrew Hubertz and Evan Kennedy both had three RBI. Hubertz's came on a three run homerun in the first. 

Perry Meridian 6 Columbus East 5 – John Hardwick picked up the win for Perry after Perry scored twice in the top of the 7th inning trailing by a run.

Concord 12 Lakeland 3 – Seth Huxford threw three innings for Concord striking out nine.

Fishers 17 Lebanon 1 – Fishers pounded out 12 hits offensively led by Drew Clark (3-3, HR, 2B, four RBI, two BB, three R). Clay Small connected on a grand slam in the 1st inning, and Garret Schlotter hit a 2-run homerun in the 3rd. Parker Lasch contributed two hits including a double and two RBIs.

Hamilton Southeastern 3 Hamilton Heights 2 – HSE scored three times in the top of the 7th inning to give them the win. The inning was capped off by a Tre Gantt two RBI double to give HSE the lead. Wes Edrington and Hansen both had two hits, including a double for HSE. Logan Cunningham had two hits and a RBI for HH. Phoenix Cox threw five good innings for HH giving up just five hits and striking out eight.

Jasper 6 Mt. Carmel (IL) 1 – Mark Gielser went five innings without giving up a hit and striking out nine. He was also 3-3 at the plate with a double and homerun.

FW Luers 6 Woodlan 3 – Luers broke up a 0-0 tie with a four run fifth inning. They added another run in both the sixth and seventh innings to get the win. Coy got the win on the mound for Luers.

Hobart 9 Washington 1 - Senior right-hander Phil Madvek threw the thirteenth no-hitter in school history as he dominated the Senators all afternoon.  Madvek also tied a career-high nine strikeouts to earn his first win of the season.  Right-fielder Jake Ehrlich was 2-4, scoring two runs, and driving in two more in the win.

Evansville Reitz 4 Heritage Hills 2 - Reitz' Tyler Schmitt tossed a complete game allowing just one earned run and four hits.  Heritage Hills led 2-0 going into the bottom of the third until Reitz' Daniel Sander tied the game with a two run triple.  Sander then scored the go ahead run on a ground out. 

Mishawaka Marian 9 NorthWood 0 – Vince Ravotto had two hits, including a homerun, and two RBI. Matt Hammond also had two hits, including a triple, and two RBI. Drew Hasler started on the mound picking up his first win of the year. Andrew Price also homered for Marian.

South Central (U.M.) 12 River Forest 2 – Steven Shepard went all five innings allowing just two hits to pick up the win. Garrett Walter hit a homerun a drove in four runs.

New Haven 4 Heritage 3 – New Haven scored two runs in the top of the 7th to give them a one run victory. Shumaker got the win and also homered in the game.

FW Southside 9 Blackhawk Christian 5 – Will Coursen-Carr picked up the win and also homered for Southside. Josh Fisher homered and Evan Vansumeren tripled in the win.

Munster 12 Hammond Clark 2 - Scott Jerge threw four strong innings to get the win. Senior Colin Mudroncik went 3-4 with a HR while Sophomore Alex Del Rio went 2-2 (2B, three RBI).
