#3 Elkhart Central 2 Goshen 0 - Tanner Tully picked up the win, throwing six innings and striking out 13. Riley Futterknect threw the 7th inning to pick up the save. Ronnie Hawkins stole home to give EC one of their runs. Cory Malcolm went 2-3 with a double to lead the blazers at the plate.

#8 Penn 12 La Porte 2 -  Chad Whitmer got the win going four innnings and striking out six. Tyler Thompson had two extra base hits a double and a triple. Caleb Birkey also had a double as Penn picked up 10 hits in their season opener. 

Westview 6 Jimtown 2 F/9 – Damon Miller picked up a no decision for Westview going six innings allowing one run on six hits. Westview put up four runs in the top of the ninth, Judah Zickafoose scored on a passed ball, Tarrin Beachy singled in a run, and Brant Yoder double in two more.

Concord 14 Mishawaka 10 F/13 – Concord trailed by five going into the top of the seventh, but managed send the game into extra innings. They added two in top of the ninth, but Mishawaka responded with two of their own. Concord would put the game away with four in the top of the 13th for the win.

Churubusco 8 Woodlan 7 – Gross picked up the win and Simeon got the save as Churubusco put up three runs in the top of the sixth to break up a 5-5 tie.

Evansville Reitz 4 Tecumseh 3 F/8 - Reitz junior Drew Johnston picked up the win in relief and knocked in the game running run with a two out RBI triple in the top of the 8th.  In the bottom of the 8th with the tying run on first, Tecumseh’s Jacob Newmaster doubled into the right centerfield gap.  Reitz senior Austin Schapker cut it off and delivered a strike to first baseman Daniel Sander, Sander then threw home ending the game with an 8-3-2 put out.  Sander was 2 for 3 with a RBI.

Hobart 12 Boone Grove 4 - A pair of Hobart lefties dominated the Wolves as senior Jake Ehrlich and junior C.J. Komosa combined for 14 strikeouts in the Hobart win.  Ehrlich and Anthony Burgos each had two hits for Hobart.

Eastside 4 Eden (OH) 0 – Bryce Yoder picked up the win going all seven innings allowing just one hit and one walk, while striking out 14. Josh Yoder and Travis Shuman both had two hits in the game.

South Central (U.M.) 8 Marquette Catholic 1 – Garret Walter picked up the win going all seven innings allowing just two hits and striking out 12. Walter also had two hits and two RBI in the game. Tyler Wherrett drove in three runs and Chance Rowe drove in two.

Fremont 10 Elkhart Christian 2 – Alex Beams had a big day picking up the win on the mound and going 2-4 at the plate with a double and four RBI. Mitch VanZuilen was 4-4 in the game with two runs scored and Brock Baker was 2-4 with a double and three RBI.

Westfield 1 Muncie Central 0 – TJ Ehrman picked up the win going six and a third innings allowing four hits and striking out seven. Nick Saldutti came on to get the last two outs to pick up the save. Saldutti was also 2-3 at the plate with a triple and the only run scored.

Wabash 12 Eastern 0 – Shea Beauchamp had a big day at the plate going 3-4 with a double, five RBI, and two runs scored. Andrew Shepherd was 2-3 with a double, two RBI, and three runs scored. Shepherd also picked up the win going all five innings allowing just two hits and striking out six.

Lakeland 3 Bethany Christian 2 – Hunter Sams threw five innings to pick up the win, allowing just four hits. Ty Harshberger drove in two runs and Ryan Oakley was 2-3 with a RBI and a run scored.

St. Joesph’s 11 New Prairie 1 – Brad Hartman hit a homerun as St. Joe busted out 12 hits to move to 2-0 on the season.
