March is finally here and baseball tryouts have officially hit the ground running for Public Schools across the Old Line State. This year, we have decided to keep the same format as last year as we will keep two separate rankings throughout the Spring season. All Maryland Private schools will be considered in this year's weekly PBR Maryland Private Schools Top 10 rankings while only Public schools will be considered in our traditional PBR Maryland Public Schools Power 25. An update to these rankings will be released every Monday throughout the season.

Season Snapshot

The strength of the Barons and Coach John Schmidt in 2022 will be their experience and depth on both sides of the ball. The expectations are high this season, competing in one of, if not the most competitive and talented regions in the state, led by Senior leaders on both sides of the ball.

Seniors Paul Fine (Emory University) and Beck Urofsky (Cornell University) will lead the charge on the offensive side, with added and expected production out of Juniors Noah Kaye and Kyle Tatelbaum. Look for Sophomore outfielder Adam Niman to build off of a successful 2021 campaign last year, providing Coach Schmidt some well added depth offensively.

Look for Senior standouts Dylan Friebert (Frostburg State University) and Beck Urofsky (Cornell University) to be a nice one-two punch for the Barons on the bump, with Junior lefty Miles Kessler and Sophomore righty Pierce Tewksbury providing key innings throughout the season.
