March is finally here and baseball tryouts have officially hit the ground running for Public Schools across the Old Line State. This year, we have decided to keep the same format as last year as we will keep two separate rankings throughout the Spring season. All Maryland Private schools will be considered in this year's weekly PBR Maryland Private Schools Top 10 rankings while only Public schools will be considered in our traditional PBR Maryland Public Schools Power 25. An update to these rankings will be released every Monday throughout the season.

Season Snapshot

Coach Chris Poe enters his 11th season in the Century Knights program and the goal is nothing new this year; win the Carroll County title first, and then lean on the plethora of depth to make noise come playoff time. The loss of key contributors from last year's team will be a hurdle early on, with the likes of Conner Breitenbach (Penn State-Harrisburg), Matt Guyer, and Hunter Rose (Southern Maryland) all graduating from last year's team.

On the bump, the Knights will rely heavily on their Upperclassmen players to lead the rotation in Seniors Kyle Grimsley, John Kasten and Bryson Prietz (CCBC Catonsville/ Transfer from Liberty HS). Look for Juniors Brody Comer and Owen Roach to also provide Coach Poe with some well added depth throughout. As a staple every year, Coach Poe and his staff will undoubtedly develop the younger players in the program throughout the season, providing even more depth throughout the roster.

Offensively, the Knights will be led by Senior catcher RJ Branch, infielders Brody Comer and Kyle Grimsley, and outfielders Brayden McGraw and Owen Roach. Look for the lineup to be balanced throughout, with leadership from the upperclassmen and depth from their younger players.
