Big Northern East

Burlington Central (18-6; 6-0) defeated Harvard 4-3 behind a six-hitter from Rocket senior Riley Jensen (7-1). Jensen fanned 12 Hornet hitters in his masterpiece on Tuesday.

Richmond-Burton (18-7; 5-1) crushed North Boone 11-0 in five innings on Tuesday. Wright State-bound LHP E.J. Trapino improved to 10-0 on the season with his fifth shutout of the season, this time a one-hitter. Trapino helped himself with a pair of triples and two RBI at the plate.

Catholic Blue

Brother Rice (16-9; 7-4) swept away Loyola 7-0 behind a four-hitter from Crusader senior RHP Jack Miller (2-1). Senior Garret O’Neil had two hits and drove in two for Rice. Junior Redrick Richardson chipped in with two RBI.

Central Suburban North

Glenbrook North (19-7; 7-2) slipped past Maine West 8-7 behind Spartan junior Brad Margolin and senior Sing Fong who each plated a pair of RBI for the CSL-North leaders.

Central Suburban South

No. 14 Maine South (20-3; 9-0) beat No. 18 New Trier 4-2 in nine thrilling innings. Hawk senior RHP Pat Aloisio (7-0) fired a four-hitter at the Trevians. Hawk senior Keenan Kelly was 3-for-3 at the plate and drove home the eventual game-winner in the top of the ninth.

Glenbrook South (17-7; 7-2) sent Niles West to its fourth straight loss, 4-1, behind Titan junior RHP Sam Koloms (4-1). Niles West falls to (19-5; 5-4)

Fox Valley Fox

FVC-Fox leader Grayslake Central (18-5; 11-1) slipped past Crystal Lake Central 6-5 behind the continued torrid hitting of Ram Kristian Meehan who homered, doubled and drove home three more Ram runs.

Fox Valley Valley

Cary-Grove (17-7; 11-1) beat McHenry 2-1 behind Trojan senior Zach Marzel’s (5-1) one-hitter. Junior Danny Vilardo continued his hot-hitting with two-hits and an RBI for the FVC-Valley leaders.

Red-hot Crystal Lake South (19-7; 10-2) blanked No. 22 Prairie Ridge 2-0 on Tuesday. Gator senior Zach Geib (7-2) fired a three-hitter at the Wolves and Porsche Player of the Week junior Jordan Getzelman. Prairie Ridge (18-7; 10-2) falls into a second-place tie with Crystal Lake South down in the Valley.

The two teams will meet on Thursday at Prairie Ridge at 4:30.

Mid-Suburban East

Prospect (10-14; 7-3) defeated Wheeling 4-0 behind Illinois State-bound RHP Jack Landwehr. Landwehr improved to 5-2 with a one-hit shutout of the Wildcats. Landwerh struck out 11 to set a new Prospect career strikeout mark of 227. Knight senior Brad Gerdes led the Knight attack with two hits and two RBI.

North Suburban Lake

No. 6 Mundelein (21-3; 7-0) destroyed Libertyville 15-3 as Mustang senior LHP Jared Mandel improved to 7-0 with a five-hitter with seven punch-outs. Mustang senior Torr Randau homered doubled and plated six Mustang runs. Seniors Chris Maranto and Brad Wiener joined junior Ryan Dolan as all three hit bombs for the NSC-Lake leaders. Libertyville falls to 14-7; 5-2).

North Suburban Prairie

Vernon Hills (19-5; 6-1) blanked Grant 2-0 Cougar behind junior LHP Tyler Feece (7-1). Feece fired a three-hitter at the Bulldogs with seven strikeouts. 

NIC-10

Rockford Boylan (17-7; 9-0) won for the 13th straight time, defeating Machesney Park Harlem 3-2 on Tuesday. Boylan’ s Joe Kubera outdueled Harlem’s Drake Robison in a classic pitcher’s duel at Harlem. Harlem falls to (18-7; 7-2).

South Seven

Mount Vernon (21-5; 8-0) defeated Carbondale 8-3 to clinch the Rams third consecutive South Seven championship. Ram Jared Anthis went the distance against the Terrriers and improved to 8-0. Senior C Grant Garrett had a pair of RBI for the SSC kingpins.

West Suburban Gold

Addison Trail (16-9; 9-2) blanked Leyden 1-0 behind a two-hitter from Blazer Anthony Kalbas. The Blazers entertain No. 21 Hinsdale South (17-4; 8-2) in a big twin-bill at 2 on Saturday. The PBR’s Drake Skleba will be in Addison for all of the action.

Nonconference

No. 9 Benton (26-4) outslugged Nashville 12-9 in a S. Illinois River-River crossover on Tuesday.
