24 players who have roots in Missouri were selected in the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft, with eight high school players and 16 college players selected during the three days. 

Hazelwood West RHP Devin Williams was the only Missouri player drafted on the first day, No. 54 overall to the Milwaukee Brewers. The Brewers has no pick in the first round, making Williams their first pick in the draft. 

Day two of the draft (rounds 3-10) saw Tanner Murphy from Malden HS selected in the fourth round (No. 133 overall) by the Atlanta Braves. A pair of Missouri State pitchers were also drafted on day two. RHP Nick Petree from Clinton HS was drafted by the Cardinals in the ninth round (No. 275 overall) and RHP Gordon Grant from Salem HS was selected in the 10^th round (No. 307 overall) by the Los Angeles Angels.

Missouri talent was sought after by the local professional teams, with the St. Louis Cardinals drafting six Missouri players and the Kansas City Royals drafting four.
