The week of February 18 - 24 was scheduled to be a big week for Junior College baseball in North Carolina.  Several big series were on the docket, but mother nature had different plans.  A week full of rain across the state played havoc with the schedule.  Below is a look at what did happen on the field, including a few teams that were able to open their conference seasons.

DI JUCOs

Louisburg

Midweek game vs. Wake Tech postponed and weekend series vs. Cuyahoga CC cancelled due to rain.

 

DII JUCOs

Brunswick CC

Swept their weekend series against Bryant & Stratton College with wins of 7-5, 9-0, and 11-1. Josh Jarman was strong on the mound in game two pitching 6.2 innings allowing 1 hit and striking out 11.  Zach Roberts, Hunter Ashburn, and Alec Dumas all homered in game three.  

Catawba Valley CC

Opened their week with a 12-3 win over Lenoir-Rhyne JV.  Split a Sunday doubleheader against Paul D. Camp CC to begin conference play.  The Red Hawks won game one 8-5 with Grant Tilley and Trent Jones driving in 2 runs apiece.  CVCC dropped game two 6-1.  

Wake Tech CC

Weekday game vs. Louisburg postponed and weekend series vs. Southeastern CC cancelled due to weather.

Pitt CC

Midweek game vs. Mount Olive JV postponed.  Weekend series vs. Patrick Henry CC cancelled due to rain.

Guilford Tech CC

Defeated Greensboro College JV 15-5 in a midweek contest.  Justin Luna went 2-4 with an RBI for GTCC.  Weekend series vs. Lenoir CC was cancelled due to rain.   

Lenoir CC

Midweek game vs. Methodist JV cancelled.  Weekend series vs. Guilford Tech CC cancelled.  

Southeastern CC

Lost their midweek game to Florence Darlington Tech CC 9-6.  Chris Linger homered in the loss.  Weekend series vs. Wake Tech CC cancelled due to rain.   

 

DIII JUCOs

Rockingham CC

Midweek games vs. Bluefield College JV and weekend series vs. Montgomery College cancelled due to rain.  

Surry CC

Friday game against Montgomery College and weekend series vs. Frederick CC cancelled due to rain.
