Originally from Mountain View, Calif., it may be fitting that D.J. Edwards is helping to change the way young baseball talent is being viewed here in the Rocky Mountains as well as what it can do on the game’s highest levels.

“I did it on my own,” said Edwards, whose background is in exercise science and nutrition. “I went from nothing to something, I guess, and am still trying to get there. I love it.”

Off County Line Road in Highlands Ranch, Edwards has been running Push Performance, a training program in 6,000-squre foot facility that is attracting talent and making it better. And it runs the gamut, from professionals to college players to schoolboys to youth players and encompasses all sports. The Broncos’ Demaryius Thomas has been a client and Edwards was a minor-league baseball player.
