EVANSTON, IL – No. 5 Maine South smoked Central Suburban League rival Niles West 10-0 in six innings behind senior left-hander John Forsythe’s no-hitter Wednesday in the Evanston Sectional semifinals.

Forsythe (7-2), who is committed to UC Riverside, dominated Niles West with eight strikeouts, as he pounded the strike zone with his fastball and curve.

Offensively, senior Nick Calabrese went 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles, a triple and three runs. Nick Mitrovich had three hits and five RBI, while junior outfielder Frankie Perrone went 2-for-2 with a RBI.

The red-hot Hawks will play the winner of Thursday’s game between New Trier and Oak Park for the sectional championship Saturday
