After a full spring and most of the summer, PBR OK takes another in-depth look at the 2021 class as they head into their junior year. Initially, the 2021 class did not look to be overly deep with talent, but there have been many players make huge jumps in the past few months really bolstering the class at the top and throughout. In this rendition, there are six newcomers in the top 20 and 3 risers in the top 20 that moved up over 10 slots.

Top 3

Retaining the first spot in the rankings is Texas Christian commit RHP/3B Gray Thomas (Heritage Hall). Thomas has a 6-foot-4, 190-pound long limbed frame with some strength. On the mound, the right-hander features a fastball that sits 88-92 mph with heavy arm side run and sink when down in the zone. Thomas also features an elite slider with 10/4 shape and late depth and an advanced changeup with sink. Thomas is also a capable hitter with some pop from the right-side.

Maintaining the second spot is athletic RHP/SS Jackson Jobe who also attends Heritage Hall. Jobe is a solid athlete whose biggest tool is his arm strength which he shows off on the baseball field and as a state championship quarterback. On the mound, the right-hander features a fastball that PBR has seen at 85-88 mph with reports of being up to 90 late this summer. While more projectable on the mound, Jobe is also a capable infielder and right-handed hitter.

The third spot in the rankings continues to be held by Oklahoma State commit, C/RHP Ian Daugherty (Kingfisher). A durable 6-foot-2, 190 pound frame with some strength throughout. With a strong and very accurate arm (1.94-2.07 showcase pop times) and advanced receiving and blocking skills, Daugherty could currently handle most college pitching staffs and control college running games without much trouble. Offensively, the right-handed hitter shows barrel control with some pop to all fields. Daugherty's best tool is his all around baseball IQ and feel for the game.

Risers

Over the last four months, a few players have shown impressive growth and have shot up the list. Below are a few of them.

Brody Green, 3B, 2021, Owasso
A 6-foot-4, 170-pound frame that oozes projection. The right-hander hitter shows a very short swing especially for his long limbs with barrel control and leverage. He rises 12 spots after showing he can hit for power and average all spring and summer long. Green is also and advanced defender with the hands, feet, and arm to stay at 3B at the next level.

Wallace Clark, SS, 2021, Holland Hall
A 6-foot, 175-pound proportional frame with some strength. Offensively, the switch hitter is an elite hitter from the left with high end barrel control and doubles strength, and is no slouch from the right-side either. Defensively, Clark shows elite hands and footwork with an accurate arm that will keep him on the infield at the next level.

Jett Tucker, OF, 2021, Owasso
A physically advanced 6-foot-3, 188-pound frame with strength throughout. The right-handed hitter rises 25 spots after putting up big numbers all summer with doubles pop with a short and efficient swing.

Newcomers

The PBR Oklahoma staff is always out on the lookout for talented players across the state, and we pride ourselves on constantly evaluating and discovering new players. Below are three new players that made a big splash this fall and winter.

Bode Brooks, RHP, 2021, Tuttle
A 5-foot-10, 185-pound proportional frame with some strength. On the mound, the right-hander has made a big jump recently from the low 80s into the upper 80s and touching 90 a the OK Summer Open. Brooks also features an advanced changeup at 74-75 for consistent strikes and breaking ball that he throws for strikes in any count.

Ty Hammack, OF, 2021, Deer Creek
A 5-foot-11, 185-pound advanced athlete with strength throughout. Hammack is the most complete athlete in the class with a chance to develop into a true 5-tool player. The right-handed hitter shows high-end bat speed and strength in BP. Defensively, Hammack shows a strong arm (85 mph) and speed in the outfield (6.63 60).

Gunnar McCollough, RHP, 2021, Coweta
A physically advanced 6-foot-3, 215-pound frame with strength throughout. On the mound, the right-hander is a solid strike thrower who features a fastball in the mid-upper 80s.
