Osceola Uses Combined Effort In Win Over Inspiration Academy

The Osceola Warriors hosted the Inspiration Academy Lions on Wednesday night and were able to walk away with a 9-2 victory. Inspiration jumped out to 2-0 lead in the first two innings, but the bats of Osceola really came alive in the last five innings and 2017 RHP Jeremy Adams was able to shut down Inspiration’s offense for the remainder of the contest.

The Lions jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning when 2016 C Matthew Mackey drove a sacrifice fly to center field to bring in 2016 INF Fielding Goodwin, who had doubled to lead off the game. After the Warriors went scoreless in the bottom half, 2016 OF Jake Taraska led off the second with a home run that was pulled down the left field line. Unfortunately for the Lions, these were the only two runs that Adams allowed the entire game.

The Warrior offense came alive in the bottom of the third inning when they scored three runs in the inning, two of which came off a single by 2016 3B Lucas Biblehauser. After a scoreless fourth inning, Osceola began to break the game open in the fifth by adding three more runs, one that came off an RBI double by LHP/OF Tyler Malinowski (Florida Gulf Coast commit).

The Warriors were able to pick up three more runs in the sixth innings, including another double from Malinowski, this time driving in two runs. As the game went on, Adams seemed to only get stronger as his strikeouts increased in the later innings and he was throwing all three of his pitches for strikes.
