PA Underclass Games Live Blog - Day #2



Today's Live Blog will begin at 11:00am with the Grey Team taking on the Red Team. The White Team will play the Black Team in the final game of the weekend at 2:00pm.

Twenty minutes from first pitch. The scheduled starting pitchers for each team are as follows:

Red Team:   RHP Matt Rafferty, Seneca Valley HS, Class of 2014, 5-foot-11, 175-pounds
Grey Team:  LHP J.J. Bleday, Titusville HS, Class of 2016, 6-foot-2, 165-pounds

After one complete inning, Red Team leads 3-0. Ted Williams, Class of 2014 and Zach Craven, Class of 2014 with the big hits to drive in runs. Matt Rafferty strikes out the side in the bottom of the inning.

Moving to the bottom of the 3rd inning with the Red Team leading 9-0. Class of 2014, Zach Craven's RBI triple to the center field wall was the big blow in the 3rd inning.

After five complete innings, Red Team leads 9-1. Matt Rafferty's day is complete. His line was 4 IP, 8 K's, 4 hits, and 1 unearned run.

Top of the 7th inning, Red Team still leads 9-1. RHP Cameron Enck, Class of 2015, worked two perfect innings topping out at 78mph.

Going to the 9th inning. Red Team leads 9-2. RHP Scott Pierce, Class of 2014, works two solid innings for the Red Team topping at 81mph.

Final score in Game #1 - Red Team 11  Black Team 5


GAME #2:

RHP Zach Newmyer, Class of 2014, gets the start on the hill for the white team. Newmyer gets out of the first inning with two K's topping at 78mph,


No score after one complete inning. RHP Matt Gordon, Class of 2014, set the White Team down in the first inning on two strikeouts, topping out at 83mph.

We have now completed four innings with the game tied at four. RHP Noah Smith, Class of 2014, tossed two innings for the Black Team topping out at 81mph. LHP Dustin Lander, Class of 2015, went an inning for the White Team topping out at 79mph.

Still 4-4 after five innings. RHP Steve Helmeci, Class of 2014, and RHP Luke Basko, Class of 2014 worked scoreless innings in the 5th, and both topped out at 79mph.

Going to the 9th inning, the Black Team leads the White Team 7-5.  RHP Joel Hake and RHP Joel Shaffer each worked two innings. Both pitchers topped out at 79mph.
