PBR FL: Limited Series Preview No. 5

PBR Florida Staff

Tomorrow, Friday, PBR Florida will be hosting its first annual Limited Series tournament, held from June 1 through Sunday, June 3. The Limited Series was created to give teams a platform to play in an exceedingly competitive atmosphere in a tournament setting that will allow their players greater visibility within a smaller setting, all taking place at IMG Academy.

Each game will be thoroughly promoted and scouted by both the national and state directors on our PBR staff – and teams will play four games each at minimum. In an endeavor to establish more exposure for teams and players, our staff will provide roster packets and information for all attending college and professional scouts, as well as generate pre- and post-event content. And, as always, we’ll be updating our Scout Blog throughout the tournament where we will write reports on the participating players and overall game recaps.

Today, we’ll wrap up our pre-tournament coverage by highlighting some potential standouts in this final group of five teams invited.

BASEBALL UNIVERSITY 15U

Baseball University’s third participating team at Limited Series is its 15U squad made up exclusively of uncommitted 2021 prospects. Ruben-John Alfaro, a third base prospect from Jesuit High School, is one name, specifically, that we’re looking forward to seeing. Apart from Alfaro, the BU program always boasts a great number of talents and we’re positive their 15U team is no exception. We’re eager to get notes on the 2021 talent for the first time in person.

CFL CITIUS 2020 RED

Similar to what you’ll notice for the rest of the teams on today’s list, Citius’ 2020 Red squad is primarily comprised of players we’ve yet to see live, making the 16U tournament an exciting one to be cover. Tommy Ramos (Hileah Gardens) and Steele Polin (All Saints Academy) are two uncommitted 2021s on a roster full of players a year older than them. Both are shortstops and both are among the most intriguing follows on this team.

RAWLINGS LEGENDS – LAKELAND

This Rawlings team will be participating in the 16U tournament and they’ll be led by an eligible 2019 prospect, Brayden Miller (Bartow; uncommitted). Miller has been on our radar, like many of the players on this roster, but we have not yet gotten the chance to see him play in person. It’s a roster full of unseen 2019 and 2020 talent, so we’re looking forward to scouting this Lakeland-area team ourselves.

X TEAM 2020

X Team’s second roster at Limited Series is filled with younger, lesser known prospects, but we’re nonetheless excited to see how they perform in the 16U bracket. All but one member of this team is a 2020. The lone 2021 is Juan-Pablo Correa (Cypress Bay), a catcher/third baseman without a commitment. Listed at 6-foot-3, 185 pounds, Correa appears to carry some serious projectability for his age, so we’ll see how his frame plays behind the plate, in the field, and at the batter’s box this weekend.

TOP TIER NATIONAL 2020

Finally, Top Tier’s fourth team at Limited Series is their National 2020 squad. This team is half 2020s and half 2021s, all of whom are uncommitted. The 2021s include C Chase Ciatto (Pinellas Park), 3B Spencer Boynton (Academy at the Lake), OF Marcus Brodil (Dunedin), 2B Ezra Brennan (Alonso), 2B Carson Quick (Jesuit), and 2B Aidan Hart (Merritt Island). It’ll be interesting to see how this mix of talent coalesces through the weekend.
