We are now in the back half of district play with only a couple of weeks left in the regular season.  Last week, we traveled to Central Louisiana to see the Pineville Rebels take on the Alexandria Senior High Trojans.  The Rebels ended up winning the game by a score of 6-2, but the Trojans did get revenge in Game 2, as they won 5-4 to split the district series.  This week, we have arguably the biggest regular season game of the year in Louisiana, as Sulphur travels to Barbe on Saturday April 8, 2023 for our Week 7 Game of the Week.  The Bucs and Tors sit atop our Power 25 Rankings, which means fans will get a showdown of #1 vs. #2.  Barbe currently owns a 29-1 record, after beating Lafayette twice this week in district play.  Sulphur currently owns a 25-2 record and beat Southside twice this week with both games being decided by one run.  The Tors are currently undefeated in district play and the Bucs have one district loss to Sam Houston, so there will also be district title implications on the line this Saturday.  This game is one of the biggest rivalries across the state, but we should also see one of the most highly anticipated pitching matchups of the season as well.  Barbe will likely send 2024 RHP Landon Victorian (LSU commit) to the mound and Sulphur will likely start 2023 LHP Jake Brown (LSU signee), which gives us a matchup of the top ranked junior prospect vs. the top ranked senior prospect.  The storylines are abundant for this 5A clash between the Bucs and the Tors, so be sure to follow us, across all of our social media platforms, for our Week 7 Game of the Week!
