PBR Staff

Prep Baseball Report is proud to welcome Kevin Moulder as our new Missouri Scouting Director. A native of Missouri with a long track record of success as a collegiate head coach and recruiting coordinator, Moulder’s baseball roots run deep across the state.

A high-level talent evaluator and communicator, Moulder brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for Missouri baseball to the Prep Baseball Report.

Moulder comes to Prep Baseball Report after completing his 16th year of coaching and second year as head coach at Jefferson College, in which he compiled a record of 63-19 during a two-year stint. His first season was a record-breaking season as the Vikings went 47-10, which set the school record for victories during the regular season that included a school-record 29-game winning streak. Moulder collected MCCAC coach of the year honors for the 2019 season. Thirty-six players moved on to four-year institutions, 24 of them to the Division I level.

Prior to Jefferson College, Moulder spent over a decade at the NCAA Division I level, including four years as the head coach at Murray State University. While at Murray State, his teams in his final three years collected the most wins in the program’s 40-year span during a three-year time frame, also setting the school record for conference wins.

Moulder also served as the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator at Saint Louis University from 2008-2014, helping lead the Billikens to three straight conference championships in his final three years.  During his time, they broke the school record for wins on three occasions and participated in the 2010 Louisville Regional and 2013 Columbia South Carolina Regional.

“I couldn’t be more excited to have Kevin Moulder on our team,” said Prep Baseball Report President Sean Duncan. “Kevin has coached in every corner of Missouri, and knows the state inside and out. He has won with class at every stop during his decorated coaching career. His baseball acumen and knowledge of the state will be a huge asset to all the players, parents, and college recruiters.”

Before Saint Louis University, Moulder spent two years at University of Central Missouri as recruiting coordinator and pitching coach, accumulating 95 wins and a MIAA title in 2006.

Moulder broke into the coaching ranks at the junior college level in 2005 as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Lake City CC in Florida. That team had the second most players drafted of any college program with nine draftees. Moulder started his coaching career at St. Louis Community College Forest Park.

His playing career started with St Louis Community College, where he earned all-region honors and led the Highlanders to a 2001 NJCAA World Series. A graduate of Murray State University, he helped lead the Thoroughbreds to a 2003 OVC tournament title. He earned a Masters in Sports Administration from Central Missouri in 2007.

“I am extremely excited to be joining the Prep Baseball Report team,” said Moulder. “Throughout my coaching career I have relied heavily on PBR; from tournaments, showcase events, to video and content and have always been impressed with the quality of their work and the people involved in the organization. I am grateful for the opportunity to be covering my home state of Missouri and I’m looking forward to getting started.”
