OKLAHOMA PLAYER OF THE WEEK

It was another great week for Oklahoma high school baseball with a handful of players putting up deserving player of the week numbers. The nod for player of the week in week two of the spring, March 12th-18th, did something we have not seen or heard of before. Midwest City’s DeClaudio Irvin batted .455 (5-for-11). While a solid average, not really jaw-dropping, until you consider that all five of his hits were home runs.

Chandler Shapard C / RHP / Heritage Hall, OK / 2018

The recent UCO commit is one of the fastest rising players in OK’s 2018 class and performances like he had last week highlight why. In three games,  Shapard went 7-for-10 with four doubles, a home run, and 5 RBIs. While good with the bat, it’s Shapard’s right arm on the mound that sets him apart.
