Scott Hood
OK/MO/KS/ARK Assistant Scouting Director

2022 was a banner year for baseball in Oklahoma and today we take a look back to see which profiles saw the most action from the entire year.  To guys making names for themselves on the national stage, coming up clutch in big moments throughout the spring, and even hearing their names called at the top of the MLB Amateur Draft, 2022 saw it all for prep Okies.  With the help from google analytics we are able to see which 20 profiles got the most views throughout the year.   The list is comprised of players that have already moved onto the next level all the way down to a new crop of young talent including a freshman that hasn't even seen a pitch in High School yet.

We here at Prep Baseball Report Oklahoma strive to be the most comprehensive outlet for all things amateur baseball in Oklahoma and we are just getting started in our preparation for the 2023 Spring season.  Be sure to follow along the next couple of months as we dive deeper into player profiles, team outlooks, and our un-matched springtime coverage.

We have two events left before the beginning of the high school year with our OKC Preseason ID and the prestigious Preseason All-State event.  Click here for more information on these upcoming events.

Ethan Holliday SS / Stillwater, OK / 2025

Ethan's brother Jackson might have heard his name first overall in the draft this past summer but it is the younger Holliday that takes this top spot in most viewed profiles in 2022.  The number one overall ranked player in the country for the 2025 class did not disappoint in his first go around in in the high school season more than holding his own as a freshman hitting with power to all fields and showing advanced skills at the plate.  The Oklahoma State commit also happens to be one of the top defenders in the state and is becoming a must-watch this upcoming spring.

Jackson Holliday SS / Stillwater, OK / 2022

It was a banner year for Holliday that saw him break the national hit record this past spring and vaulting that success into the number one overall pick in the draft.  With his selection in the draft it goes without saying that Holliday possesses all the necessary skills to be considered amongst the elite in the game but it is the little things that might go unnoticed that makes him special.  Holliday plays with an extremely high baseball IQ and has one of the steadier heartbeats in big moments playing with extreme confidence.

Garrett Shull SS / RHP / Enid , OK / 2024

Shull enters the list as the third most viewed profile in 2022 in Oklahoma and is considered one of the top hitters in the country for the 2024 class.  As an early commit to Oklahoma State before his high school career started, Shull has shown the ability to live up to that high billing with big production in his first two high school seasons including leading Enid to the 6A State Tournament for the first time in a long time.  The switch hitter shows the ability to handle the bat from both sides of the plate and continues to improve his game while getting stronger and faster each time we see him.

Nathan Rogalski LHP / 1B / Deer Creek, OK / 2023

The fourth most viewed profile in Ok for 2022 takes on a more somber note with the sudden passing before the Spring season in Nathan Rogalski.  The Oklahoma State commit was considered one of the toughest left-handed arms for hitters and showed great promise for his future.  The entire baseball community poured into the Rogalski family and the Deer Creek baseball program after his passing and will always be remembered in our tight-knit baseball community.  May you rest in peace Nathan and know your impact on the game especially in Oklahoma will continue to live on.

Owen Hall RHP / 3B / Edmond North, OK / 2024

Hall enters the list as the 5th most viewed profile in Oklahoma for 2022.  The talented right-hander committed to Vanderbilt and continues to show the signs of having elite stuff packed into his arm with even more room for growth.  Hall has all the spin intangibles with the fastball and slider that shows the ability to miss bats at a high level.  Look for Hall to have a big year for Edmond North and making them a true dark horse contender for a run at the state title.

Cash Williams C / SS / Choctaw , OK / 2025

Williams showed his promise in freshman year on Varsity for Choctaw and continued to show off his skills this past summer against the top uncommitted talent at the Future Games.  Williams set himself apart from the rest breaking the pop time record at the future games and showing all the necessary tools during the workout before shining in the games with big hits and ability to throw out runners from behind the plate.  Williams is one of the top remaining uncommitted prospects in the country for the 2025 class and will continue to be a high follow throughout the year.

Avery Ortiz SS / RHP / Union, OK / 2023

Ortiz jumped onto the scene in 2021 and continued to show improvement in his game in 2022 vaulting him into the top spot in the 2023 rankings for the 2023 class in Oklahoma.  Ortiz has the rare combination of speed and power that shows up in game play and has one of the top power bats in the state.  The Oklahoma State commit will also be putting his skills and tools on display at next month's Super 60 and should be primed for another big 2023.

Owen Coil 2B / 3B / Stillwater, OK / 2024

Coil was a Future Games mainstay after having a strong performance as a freshman in 2021 and following it up with another impressive performance at the event in 2022.  The Oral Roberts commit is considered to be one of the more complete players in the State with the ability to handle the bat from the left side of the plate, showing above average defense at multiple positions on the diamond, and a high level of baserunning skills that shows up in a loud way each time we see him.

Jaxon Hyde-Hererra C / RHP / Putnam City West, OK / 2024

Hyde-Hererra continues to impress every time we see him and is one of the most interesting prospects in the 2024 class with showing abilities on both sides of the ball.  Hyde-Hererra competed for Team Illinois at the Future Games and impressed with his arm strength both behind the plate as well as working the fastball into the low 90's and showing promise.  There aren't many guys in the entire country that can match Hyde-Hererra's arm strength and surprising athleticism with his bigger frame and should be on everyone's recruiting radar.

Carson Brumbaugh SS / 2B / Santa Fe, OK / 2025

The shortstop from Edmond Santa Fe impressed in the spring season in 2022 as a slick fielding defender in the middle of the diamond making advanced level plays and helping lead Santa Fe to the 6A State Championship game.  Then in the summer it was the bat that took off and Brumbaugh really started to show some strength in the barrel and shined at the Future Games showing the ability to drive the ball to all fields.  Brumbaugh remains one of the more exciting prospects in the 2025 class and should continue to show even more growth in his game with added strength and experience.

Kash Mayfield LHP / OF / Elk City, OK / 2024

The Oklahoma State commit continues to shine on the national stage as one of the more talented left-handed arms in the region.  Mayfield also leads a talented Elk City squad that made it to the State tournament in 2022 and should be considered one of the favorites heading into 2023.  With one of the cleaner deliveries and ball jumping out of the hand with ease already working into the low 90's, look for Mayfield to make another jump in 2023 making him one of the tougher matchups for hitters all over the state.

Colin Fisher LHP / 1B / Noble, OK / 2023

Fisher checks in at number 12 in the most viewed profiles in 2022 after jumping onto the scene in 2021.  The Arkansas commit has one of the more talented left-handed arms in the State and shows the ability to spin the breaking ball at a high level making him a tough matchup especially against left-handed hitters.  The Noble product helped guide them to the State tournament in 2022 and should be primed and ready to lead them again in 2023 for another run at a state championship.

Owen Bailor LHP / 1B / Bixby, OK / 2023

The Bixby left-hander/first baseman got off to a very strong start on both sides of the ball for Bixby in the spring of 2022 helping lead Bixby to a number one ranking for a majority of the season.  Bailor made big strides on the mound and started to show real promise before an injury sidelined him for a few months.  Now back healthy, the Oral Roberts commit will be a big piece for the Spartans in 2022 and expect him to continue to show improvement as the body continues to make improvements.

Cooper Moore C / RHP / Bixby, OK / 2023

Another Bixby product sees his name on the most viewed profiles in 2022 after parlaying his big sophomore year in 2021 to even more success in 2022.  The Kansas commit has always shined as a strong defensive catcher with one of the best catch and throw skills in the country and started showing the ability to really control the barrel at the plate collecting a ton of hits throughout the year.  Where he might be showing his most promise is his work on the mound and turning into one of the top power arms in the State.

Caden Powell SS / RHP / Clinton, OK / 2022

Powell has already joined the University of Oklahoma's roster as one of the top power bats in the country hitting towering homers and eye-popping exit velos in 2022.  Powell was the lone participant at last year's Super 60 where he led the entire event amongst some of the best the country has to offer in exit velocity during BP.  Powell has the type of tools to make a big impact at the next level and will be a fun follow throughout his high school career.

Cooper Kardokus SS / RHP / Edmond Memorial, OK / 2026

Kardokus is the lone 2026 grad to make the list in the top 20 most viewed profiles in Oklahoma for 2022.  Kardokus has one of the more impressive skill sets in a younger prospect with the ability to switch hit at a high level, play defense in the middle of the diamond, and handle all the little aspects of the game to help a team to victory.  Kardokus was one of the top standouts for Team Oklahoma at the Junior Future Games this past summer and look for him to be a mainstay at Edmond Memorial for the next couple of years.

Diego Ramos RHP / SS / Vian, OK / 2023

The power-armed right hander from Vian checks in at number 17 on the most viewed profiles in 2022 after some impressive performances on the national stage and his recent commitment to Arkansas.  Ramos might have one of the more electric arms in the State and when everything is working can also be one of the more unhittable arms in the country.  The Vian product also shows strong impact with the bat with his switch hitting ability and will look to lead Vian on both sides of the ball in 2023.

Kaemyn Franklin 3B / RHP / Broken Arrow , OK / 2025

Franklin joins the list at number 18 on the most viewed profiles in 2022.  The Oklahoma commit has one of the better fastball/changeup combinations in the 2025 class and already shows an advanced feel for pitching even at a younger age.  With his lean frame and quick arm, it will be easy to see Franklin make a big jump in 2023 and will be a definite follow in the future.

Jack Williams OF / RHP / Bixby, OK / 2023

Williams has always been the prospect of high level tools and extreme projectability.  2022 was Williams' breakout year where he turned those tools into big time in-game production launching some of the most impressive homers we saw all year.  The Hillsboro Community College commit continues to make big jumps in his game as he gets more comfortable in the box and with his swing and should be poised for another big 2023.

Brennan Phillips LHP / OF / Owasso, OK / 2022

Phillips finalizes our list coming in at number 20 on the most viewed profiles in 2022.  Phillips finished his high school career as one of the most decorated pitchers in State history turning in dominate performances almost every time he took the mound.  Phillips racked up strikeouts in bunches thanks to his ability to spin two different breaking balls and used his fastball effectively to keep hitters off balance.  Phillips is currently on the roster at Oklahoma State and should be in a position to make an impact on the Cowboy's pitching staff sooner rather than later.
