3n2 Sticks Baseball 16U Slayton

Colton Sims, SS, Russellville (AR), 2022
Arkansas commit. 6-foot-1, 155-pound left-handed hitting middle infielder, highly athletic, developing strength throughout frame, smooth actions, does everything with easy effort. At the plate has a relaxed, confident demeanor, open setup, hands load back smoothly with some barrel wrap, strides to a balanced position. Loose gap-to-gap swing, elite bat speed. Stays back on the ball and drives it with force. Good overall feel and awareness at the plate. Stroked a triple into the right center gap on a left-on-left matchup. Easy runner, does not break stride when rounding bases. On the mound, Sims works with a long and loose arm action to a ¾ slot. Fastball sat 83-86 with run and sink. Curveball, 12/6 shape, 70-72, swing and miss type pitch, consistently threw over the plate for strikes. Pounded the zone over five innings, limiting Team Elite to just one hit.


Josh Hyneman, RHP, Jonesboro (AR), 2022
Uncommitted. 6-foot-4, 250-pound right-handed pitcher, strong, sturdy build, physical presence on the mound. Arm works short and clean on the mound, hides the ball well on the backside, gets out quick to a ¾ slot. Works on-line with a tall and fall delivery. Fastball sat 84-86, touched 87 and 88, run action to both sides of the plate, worked the corners well. Slider, 69-72, downer action, confident to throw in to righties and bend onto the outer half.
Reese Robinett, 3B, Kennett (MO), 2022
Committed to Arkansas shortly following the PBR Showdown. 6-foot-3, 200-pound left-handed hitting third baseman, big, strong frame, athletically built. Open setup, short gliding stride, hands load back smoothly with a cock of the barrel, good balance. Has a power, gap-to-gap approach at the plate, drives the ball with force, even on balls that he mishits is able to muscle up and generate hard contact. More power to come as he continues to fill out his frame.
Luke George, C, Little Rock Catholic (AR), 2022
Uncommitted. 6-foot-2, 185-pound right-handed hitting catcher, broad shoulders, lanky frame, projects to fill out with considerable strength as he matures. Impressed at the plate with his simplicity. Balance setup, short stride, loads high hands back with some drop, good balance. Line drive approach that will develop into a gap-to-gap as he adds to his frame.
Alex Bailey, RHP, Murfreesboro (AR), 2022
Uncommitted. 6-foot-2, 195-pound, right-handed pitcher, physical frame. Arm worked long, with a stab on the back-side, out to a ¾ slot. Drop and drive delivery, worked on-line. Settled in nicely to his start on Saturday, gaining velo through the first three innings of the game. Fastball topped out at 86 with more in the tank, sinking action. Curveball, 11/5 shape, 70-72.

 

5 Star Midsouth-Hill

Brady Sengkhounmany, RHP, Central Magnet (TN), 2021
The 5-foot-8, 165-pound command specialist on the bump put together a solid start.  Simple repeatable delivery with fluid arm action.  Commands and mixes three pitches.  Starts with the FB at 77-79, working both in and out.  While showing CB and CH at 69-71 with proper action.  Works at a great pace and consistent from outing to outing.   


5-Star Midsouth-Hunley 

Austin Hunley, RHP/SS, Mt. Juliet (TN), 2022
The 6-foot-2, 175-pound Vol commit was giving the early morning nod after late gameplay the night prior, but he answered the call in a strong start to get his squad into bracket play.  Long, loose frame w/ plenty of room to fill out.  FB worked consistent 83-86 and paired well w/ sharp 10/4 SL at 73-76 with depth.  


Copeland Bradford, C, Lebanon (TN), 2022
The 5-foot-9, 185-pound backstop is as physical as they come.  The Lebanon linebacker has a steady, powerful frame and can barrel the baseball into the power alleys.  Balanced, crouched stance while incorporating the lower half well.  Smashed a deep double in Sunday’s action that jumped off the bat. 


615 Baseball Club 16U

Huge weekend for the 2022 615 lefty arms. Dylan Kazee (LHP/OF, Rossview (TN), 2022) got things rolling (FB: 81-84 ASR, CB: 71-73 w/ 12/6 action and depth, CH: 76-78 w/ fade).  Stout frame with strong lower half w/ arm working to low 3/4 slot.  Andrew Behnke (LHP/OF, Donelson Christian, 2022) followed flashing a quick arm and some live stuff.  Leaned heavily on FB sat 84-86, topping 87 w/ late life.  Mixed occasional sharp spinning breaking ball in low 70s.  NathanBrewer (OF/LHP, Eagleville, 2022) showcased great bat speed and strength at the dish, then jumped on the bump and worked 84-87 early (settling at 82-85).  Mixed 69-71 CB w/ 1/7 action and depth.  Side note: 2022 lefty-swinging backstop Everett McKane (C/3B, Wilson Central) crushed a long ball over the weekend.  


643 DP Cougars Sterling

Druw Jones, OF, Wesleyan (GA), 2022
Vanderbilt commit. 6-foot-3, 175-pound right-handed hitting outfielder, elite athlete, lean, lanky frame, one of the top bats in nationally in the 2022 class. Projectable frame that has not even begun to fill out. Tall setup at the plate, reverse toe-tap stride, hands drop and load back smoothly. An advanced bat, high level feel for the barrel and the zone, showed an innate ability to barrel the ball routinely. Athletic hands coupled with bat speed allow for Jones to drive the ball with force to all fields, with added strength to his frame, will be able to impact the game for both average and power.


Reginald Austin, UTL, Pace Academy (GA), 2022
Uncommitted. 5-foot-10, 175-pound right-handed hitting utility man, lanky, athletic build, strong lower half. Tall setup with an athletic bend in his knees, starts with low hand placement and loads back smoothly, long stride to a good balanced position. Takes a middle/pull approach, strong hands/wrists allow for him to create loud contact, drives the ball with force. Defensively, played multiple positions. Has the natural athletic ability and hands to man both positions on the left-side of the infield, arm works with some stiffness but there is plenty of arm strength to make the throws across the infield. Also saw time in center field and managed it to a high degree. On the mound, works with a clean arm action on the back-side out of a high ¾ slot, explosive arm speed. Fastball sat 87-89. Offered up a big breaking slider that took a slurve-like shape at 69. Potential to be a true two-way prospect at the next level.
East Cobb Prime Zilleox 16U

Cal Goss, RHP, Cartersville (GA), 2022
Uncommitted. The 6-foot-1, 140-pound righty was intriguing on the weekend. He has a frame that has a ton of room to grow into, long arms and broad shoulders. Goss came in a huge situation late in game for EC Prime and featured a 78-80 mph fastball. While velo is not there yet it was easy to see with maturation and some strength in his frame, the stuff should take a big jump in the future.

East TN Rockets

Spencer Powell, RHP/3B, Science Hill, 2022
The 5-foot-9, 160-pound right hander helped lead the Rockets to a 10-0 shutout in pool play.  Medium, high-waisted frame w/ good projection. Simple delivery, w/ long arm action working to high 3/4 slot.  FB worked 78-81 w/ slight arm side action, showed ability to control inner half of the plate.  Mixed 11/5 CB at 66-67 w/ great depth and good late bite.  


Elite Squad Gulf South 16U

Ethan Crayton, LHP, Loranger HS (LA), 2021
Uncommitted. The 6-foot-2, 175-pound looked the part of every pitching coaches dream. He is lanky with a ton of room to mature physically and add strength. The arm was whippy and he featured a fastball that was climbing in to the upper 8’s as he sat 85-87 in the outing. He commanded the fastball to both sides of the plate and was dominant with it. The fastball had great life and ride to it, he only flashed a couple breaking balls in the mid-upper 7’s but it was a pitch not need in this outing. 

Steven Spalitta, C, St. Paul’s School (LA), 2023
Texas A&M. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound 2023 LHH did not catch on this particular day manning DH duties but Spalitta unsurprisingly had a solid day at the plate getting on a couple times including going opposite field on a tough outer half pitch late in a count for a line drive single. Spalitta showed a great approach all day and strike zone awareness, not chasing a single ball in any at bat. The future is bright offensively for this kid.

Cole Paxton, RHP, Zachary HS (LA), 2022
Uncommitted. The 6-foot-5, 190-pound righthander was one of the most surprising arms in the tournament in terms of metrics posting absurd spin rate on both his fastball and slider in the outing. Paxton sat 82-85 (2570-2690 rpm) and flashed a 70-72 slider (2600-2650 rpm) and commanded both pitches. The slider was the go to pitch in the outing and it was a dominant pitch. The upside on Paxton here is huge, there is a ton of room for him to fill out and add strength. He has the making of a legit arm down the road.


Evoshield Canes 16U

Carter Stanford, RHP, Spanish Fort (AL), 2022
Alabama commit. 6-foot-3, 200-pound right-handed pitcher, projectable frame that will continue to add strength as he further matures, athletic on the mound. Long, loose arm action, quick arm speed allows for him to get out front on time, easy effort throughout. Fastball sat 87-91, flashed cut. Slider, 79-81, downer action, deceptive, comes out like his fastball, not afraid to go inside with. One of the top uncommitted arms at the PBR Showdown.


Game On Prospects 16U

Will Cannon, RHP, Phenix City Central HS (AL), 2021
Georgia State commit. 6-foot-0, 175-pound righty came out slinging pellets sitting 89-90 while flashing a 76-79 change to lefties. In his outing Cannon flashed a slider to righties but the pitch was not the sharpest on this day and at times he battled command and maintaining velo in later innings. Cannon may profile as a reliever without added strength and weight to his frame, but the upside for Cannon is there. The fastball had life and his arm was loose while the velo was easy and he does have room to fill in his frame.

Game On Stealth 16U

Wyatt Evans, LHP, JL Mann HS (SC), 2021
Uncommitted. The 6-foot-6, 235-pound lefty made a loud presence in his short outing for Game On Stealth sitting 85-89 showing late life and ride on the fastball. He was predominantly fastball in this outing as it was really the only pitch he needed during the outing. The upside on the big lefty is huge; he still has room to fill out and there is definitely more velocity in the tank that should surface soon. Evans is definitely an arm to watch out in the near future.
Justin Thomas, OF, Benedictine Military (GA), 2022
Uncommitted. 5-foot-10, 163-pound athletically built right-handed hitter, hit out of the leadoff spot the entire weekend. Has a simple setup and approach at the plate. Looks to drive the ball back up the middle with line drive tendencies, whippy barrel speed, level path that spends an extended time through the zone.. Consistently finds the barrel and then puts pressure on the defense with his natural foot speed.
Jamie Felix, OF, Camden County (GA), 2022
Uncommitted. 5-foot-10, 190-pound right-handed hitting outfielder, physically advanced, strength throughout, especially in his lower half, tree trunk like legs, a high level athlete. Balanced setup with good rhythm in his hands, hands start loaded back, short leg lift stride, great balance throughout. Advanced hand and bat speed, gets extended through the zone, allowing for him to drive the ball with considerable force to the up the middle and to the pull-side. A big time running back on the gridiron as well, has a chance to be a two sport athlete at the next level.
Smith Pinson, RHP, Lee County (GA), 2021
Uncommitted. 6-foot-6, 205-pound right-handed pitcher, XL frame with strength throughout and the potential for even more. Arm worked short and loose from multiple slots, predominately used an over-the-top slot, at-times would drop down to sidearm. Drop and drive delivery, works on-line, keeps shoulders level, finishes upright, square to home. Fastball worked 85-87 from over-the-top with run, 81-82 from the side with heavy run. Changeup, 75, fade action. Curveball, 70-72, 12/6 shape, depth. An intriguing prospect given the size of his frame and ability to throw from multiple slots.
Game On Vipers 16U

Leighton Finley, SS/RHP, Richmond Hills (GA), 2022
Georgia commit. 6-foot-4, 190-pound right-handed hitting two-way prospect, a true do-it-all type prospect, has a definitive future as a shortstop and offensive minded top of the order bat, an intriguing prospect on the mound as well. Highly athletic, long, easy strides when running the bases, same type of agility defensively, allowing for him to have great range up the middle, given his long frame is able to get to virtually every ball hit his way. Advanced arm strength, more than enough to stick at shortstop at the next level. Offensively, hits from balance setup with his weight displaced on his back-side, short hand cock on load. Elite bat speed and athletic hands, has power to all fields and routinely makes hard contact with high level barrel control. On the mound, arm works short and quick to a ¾ slot, hides the ball well on the back-side not allowing the batter to catch a glimpse until it is out of his hand. Fastball sat in the mid-to-upper 80s with run, topping out at 89. Swing and miss type curveball, 12/6 shape, 74-76. High follow prospect for the 2022 class.
Luke Boone, RHP/OF, Richmond Hill (GA), 2022
Uncommitted. 6-foot-3, 190-pound right-handed two-way prospect, broad, athletic build, just starting to scratch the surface with overall strength in his frame, much more to come. On the mound, does a nice job of keeping his arm action, given the overall length in his frame, quick arm speed out to a high ¾ slot. Stays tall in his delivery, working downhill. Fastball sat 83-85 with sink and armside run. Curveball, 12/6 shape, 66 mph, big change of pace caught batters on their front foot. It is hard not to imagine a big velo jump in Boone’s future with his athletic frame and a build that projects to add a lot of physical strength. 
Caden Spivey, RHP, Viadlia (GA), 2022
Uncommitted. 6-foot, 165-pound right-handed pitcher, an athlete on the mound, loose body. Arm works short on the back-side and fires through an over-the-top slot with quick arm speed. Short strider, tall and fall, works on-line, lands and finishes square to home. Fastball sat 87-89, touched 90, armside run, pitched to contact, challenged hitters to take his best. Threw a slider during warmups, but worked exclusively with fastball during the game. Slider flashed tight cutting action, 81-82.
Georgia Jackets 16U

Jack Emacio, LHP, Cambridge HS (GA), 2022
Uncommitted. The 5-foot-11, 155-pound lefty came out for the Jackets featuring a 77-78 mph fastball from a high ¾ slot and a 66-65 mph slot. Emacio has a ton of room to fill out in his frame and features long levers and some deception in the delivery. The fastball had arm side run and the slider tunneled very well. Emacio commanded the fastball very well and went to the slider in strikeout opportunities.


Zach Harris, RHP, Cambridge (GA), 2022
Uncommitted. 6-foot-1, 170 pounds; slim frame. Short arm action with very minimal drop in arm swing. Fastball has run from the ¾ slot at 86-88. Arm strength is raw. Slider showed glimpse of a plus pitch over the weekend, but has been very solid in the spring.


Team Elite 2022

Aedan Cates, RHP, Trinity Christian (GA), 2022
Uncommitted. Cates, 6-foot-1, 205-pound, came out throwing 82-85 and featuring a 69-71 mph slider pounding the zone early with both pitches. The delivery was max effort and probably accounted to him losing some velocity in the second inning. Cates could stand to maintain the velocity as he firms up his frame with maturation; he has the makings to be effective because of his ability to throw strikes and the arm has current strength to it.

Nick Walker, OF, Dutchtown (GA), 2022
Uncommitted. The 5-foot10, 160-pound outfielder was an absolute terror on the base paths all game for Team Elite and was constantly on the entire game. The speed is a + tool for his age and he is quick and twitchy so the speed should continue to get better. He had an innate ability stealing bags getting great leads and even better jumps off the pitcher.


Team Elite Black 16U

Javi Marrero, RHP, Smiths Station (AL), 2021
Troy commit. 6-foot-1, 180-pound right-handed pitcher, quick twitch athlete. Arm works long with whip-like speed to a high ¾ slot. Controlled the zone with fastball and slider, located to both sides of the plate and kept pitches off the center. Fastball sat 89-92 (2400-2540 rpm), armside run, garnered swing and misses and got batters looking. Slider, swing and miss type pitch, feel for, depth, downer action, bottom drops out, 76.  
Adrian Roman, RHP, East Coweta (GA), 2022
Uncommitted. 6-foot-2, 185-pound, projectable frame, high waist, strong lower half, lean muscle in upper half, will continue to add strength to entire frame as he physically mature. Works at an extremely quick pace, does not allow batters to settle into the box, makes it uncomfortable. Arm works short with advanced speed out front to a high ¾ slot. Fastball sat 85-88, touched 89 with run to both sides of the plate. Slider, swing and miss pitch, downer action, tunnels well with his fastball, 72-73. Threw a high volume of strikes with both pitches and routinely induced swing and misses.
Cooper Blauser, SS/3B, Wesleyan (GA), 2022
One of the top uncommitted middle infielders in the state. 6-foot, 180-pound right-handed hitter, medium sized build with strength and athleticism throughout. Slightly open setup with an athletic bend in his knees, high hands, short load back, strides to a balanced position, great balance throughout. High end bat speed and feel for the barrel, strong, athletic hands, has the ability to drive the ball to all parts of the field. Above average runner. Defensively, showed versatility playing 1B/2B/3B/SS throughout the entire weekend. Blauser is a consistent performer, fundamentally sound, will not blow you away with flashiness, just gets the job done at a very high level.
Brant Baughcum, MIF, Brookwood, 2022
Georgia Tech commit. 6-foot-1, 190-pound right-handed hitting middle infielder, an advanced hitter with strength throughout his frame, highly athletic hands. One of the top hitters in the Georgia’s ‘22 class, Baughcum takes professional ABs, rarely gets cheated. Is the total package at the plate with quick hands and bat speed, an advanced feel for the zone, almost always finds the barrel. Has added an ample amount of strength to his frame which has resulted in added power to his swing, now becoming a serious long ball threat to the pull-side and gaps.  
Hayden Murphy, RHP/MIF, Tiftarea Academy, 2022
Auburn commit. 6-foot-3, 180-pound right-handed pitcher and middle infielder, highly athletic with a long, projectable frame, one of the top pitching prospects in the country. Arm works long with a whip-like action to a ¾ slot. Feel for three pitches that all have swing and miss potential. Fastball sat 86-90 with heavy run and sink to both sides of the plate, gets out front with pitch allowing for him work down, creates a difficult angle for batters to deal with. Slider, late bite, tight spin, present swing and miss pitch, one of the top breaking balls in his class, 73. Changeup, heavy fade action, falls off the plate, 75.
Nolan Schubart, 1B, Orchard Lake St. Mary’s (MI), 2022
Michigan commit. 6-foot-5, 210-pound left-handed hitting first baseman, one of the premier power hitters in the 2022 class. Put his power on full display throughout the entire weekend as he belted three home runs, two to the pull-side, one that he took over with top spin, and one opposite field. Advanced barrel speed and strength, drives the ball with force. Uses his long frame well to get the barrel extended through the zone, game changing swing.
Dawson Coe, LHP, Loganville (GA), 2022
Uncommitted. One of the top left-handed pitchers in Georgia’s class of 2022, 6-foot-2, 195-pound, athletic on the mound, strength throughout with room for more. Arm works short and loose to a ¾ slot, advanced arm speed, pitches with supreme confidence, attacking the zone and challenging hitters to touch his best stuff. Fastball sat 87-90 with running action. Curveball, 73, sweeping action, swing and miss type pitch, able to paint corners with and bring inside on the hands to righties.  
Team Elite Grey 16U

Ryan Lamar, RHP, Harvester Christian Academy (GA), 2021
Uncommitted. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound right hander looked bigger than his stated stature and had long levers and room to grow in his frame. He was 85-89 his entire outing but struggled to command the fastball at 88-89 when he reached back for extra; when he sat 85-87 he pounded the outer half with fastball and had great success. He only flashed a couple breaking balls, mid 70’s, but they were not in the strike zone. If Lamar can maintain fastball command and gather feel for the breaking ball, he’s an arm who could begin to make some big jumps. 

Evan Smithson, RHP/2B, Walnut Grove (GA), 2022
Uncommitted. 5-foot-11, 140-pound righthander came in relief and was just what Team Elite needed to close the door on the game. Smithson sat 78-80 while flashing an ability to throw multiple pitches for strikes, mid 60’s breaking ball, and command the fastball to both sides of the plate. If Smithson can mature physically there will be a velo jump and a very quality arm down the road who will get a lot of outs.

Team Elite Silver 16U


Manning West, RHP, Apalachee (GA), 2022
Uncommitted. 6-foot-6, 225-pound right-handed pitcher, XL frame with considerable strength throughout, one of the top pitching prospects in the state and country. An imposing force on the mound, does a good job of keeping his arm short on the backside given the side of his frame, arm works clean with quick arm speed out front to a ¾ slot. Fastball sat 86-90 with heavy running action, consistently in the zone with, ran under the hands of right-handed hitters. Has two breaking balls, a slider and curveball. Slider is the better of the two pitches but opted to use his curveball more often in this outing. Curveball came in at 73 with depth and 12/6 shape. Slider is a present swing and miss pitch while the curveball has the potential to get to that level.


Jaden Anderson, OF, Mount Pisgah (GA), 2022
Uncommitted. 5-foot-9, 180-pound right-handed hitting outfielder, athletic frame, physical lower half. Hitting out of the leadoff spot, takes a tall open setup, strides out to a balanced position, smooth rhythm in his hands. Battles at the plate, works the count and knows how to fight off pitches until he gets something he can handle. Athletic hands lead to advanced barrel control, takes a line drive gap-to-gap approach, can shorten things up when needed and put bat on ball. Great feel for the zone.
Knox Bennett, 1B, Pierce County (GA), 2022
Uncommitted. 6-foot-2, 205-pound right-handed hitting first baseman, advanced strength throughout his frame, athletic upper body. A top of the order bat, takes a crouching setup, hands load back smoothly, short stride, great balance through contact. Swings a powerful bat with a gap-to-gap approach, athletic hands, slightly uphill barrel path allowing him to elevate and use the most of his strength. Saw the ball extremely well throughout the entire weekend, barreled pitches up and drove them over outfielders heads consistently. Younger brother of Georgia QB Stetson Bennett.
Matthew Hoskins, OF/RHP, Peachtree Ridge (GA), 2022
Uncommitted. 6-foot-1, 190-pound two-way prospect, rare combination of size and athleticism, there is plenty of room to add more strength to his broad frame, had a breakout weekend at the plate and on the mound. Offensively, looks to drive the ball middle/pull with a mostly level barrel path, has serious pop in his bat, collected multiple extra base hits including two home runs over the left field fence. Hopped on the mound on Sunday and showed a running fastball that topped out at 90 with an easy effort delivery. Huge chance of pace on his breaking ball as the 11/5 curveball worked 68-69.
Cannon Whatley, MIF, Colquitt County (GA), 2022
Uncommitted. Lean, wiry 5-foot-11, 158-pound middle infielder, athletic build. At the plate, athletic, crouching setup, loads weight and hands onto back-side, short stride, good balance. Mostly line drive approach, does have the ability to drop the barrel on the ball and drive it to the pull-side. Good defender up the middle, can range to both sides and has enough arm to stick on the left-side of the infield.
RJ Rickabaugh, C, Coatesville Area (PA), 2022
Pitt commit. 5-foot-11, 185-pound left-handed hitting catcher, strong, sturdy build, athletic hands both at the plate and behind the dish. Offensively, balanced setup, hands load back smoothly. Strong hands and wrists at the plate, smooth swing.
Ben Stuart, RHP, North Oconee (GA), 2022
Uncommitted. 6-foot-1, 170-pound right-handed pitcher, lean, high waisted frame, projectable, ample room to fill out with strength, especially in his lower half. Arm works short and clean with easy effort out of a high ¾ slot. Relied mostly on his fastball during his appearance on Saturday. Fastball sat 83-85, worked downhill with, run and sink action. More velocity to come as he adds physicality to his frame.


The Lab

Cooper Stapleton, RHP/SS, South Doyle (TN), 2022
The 5-foot-9, 165-pound was bringing some juice to open up the weekend for the TN teams making the journey to LakePoint.  Medium, average build w/ good athleticism.  Quick rhythm out of staggered, repeatable delivery.  FB worked 82-86 (1980-2101rpm via Trackman) w/ slight arm side action.  Mixed CB at 72-74 in all counts w/ proper shape and depth.  Maneuvered through some challenging jams, including bases juiced, 1-out.  


Titans Blue 16U

Will Fincher, OF, Kennesaw Mountain (GA), 2022
Uncommitted. 6-foot-3, 205-pound right-handed hitting outfielder, highly athletic prospect who has added considerable strength to his frame while still maintaining his athleticism. Hitting out of the leadoff spot all weekend long, Fincher has good feel for the barrel and strikezone awareness, drawing a number of walks. He takes a gap-to-gap approach, and when all else fails he has the ability to shorten up the swing and utilize his 6.6 speed to get on base. Once on base, he disrupts the timing of pitchers and challenges catchers by being aggressive on the bases.


Kenskey Thomas, OF, Sequoyah, 2022
Uncommitted. 5-foot-10, 185-pounds, right-handed hitter, physical frame with strength throughout. Has serious pop in his bat and swings it with controlled aggression and intent. Takes a gap-to-gap approach, ball jumps off the bat when it is barreled up. Given the natural strength in his frame and build, even on mishits Thomas is able to put a charge in the ball and make balls put in play difficult for the defense to handle.
Aidan Moza, RHP, North Cobb Christian, 2022
UAB commit. Athletically-built, 6-foot, 160-pound right-handed pitcher, continues to make strides on the mound adding velocity and polish. Arm works clean with elite speed, keeps it short to a ¾ slot, repeats well. Ball explodes out of hand on release. Fastball sat 87-90 with armside run. Curveball, 77-79, 11/5 shape, late bite to it, has potential to be a swing and miss pitch. Changeup, 82, fade action to the armside, sinks when low in the zone.

Paul Napolitano, INF, Long Island Lutheran (NY), 2023
5-foot-11, 145 pounds. Wiry build that showed solid approach at the plate for Sticks. Simple set up and tempo. Loads higher than hands originally set at. Provides plenty of backspin on the ball. Good athlete in the infield that will surely make strides in the near future.

Luke Payne, LHP, Goodpasture Christian (TN), 2023
The 6-foot-2, 167-pound southpaw stole the show in his relief appearance.  Tall, high-waisted frame with plenty of room for growth.  Simple, repeatable delivery.  Quick arm that works up to high 3/4 slot and leverage well with lower half.  FB worked 82-85 with good life and ride through the zone.  Flashed a few knee buckling 12/6 CBs at 66-68 and occasionally mixed CH at 75-76.  


Chattanooga Cyclones 15U

Jase Phillips, 3b/RHP, East Hamilton (TN), 2023
The 6-foot-2, 165-pound 3B/RHP was steady eddie at the plate all weekend.  Balanced, crouched stance with shoulder set hands.  Gets on plane early for consistent contact.  Picked up go-ahead 2-run single to get the Cyclones in the win column during pool play.  


East Coast Sox-Parsons

Chet Lax, LHP/OF, Pope John Paul II (TN), 2023
The 5-foot-9, 150-pound southpaw with a nice uptick in velo from last summer.  Medium, average build w/ some projection.  Shorter, stab arm action that works up to 3/4 slot w/ good arm speed.  Lax sat 77-80 with feel for his secondary offerings.  


Georgia Jackets 15U American

Cason Engert, RHP, North Forsyth (GA), 2023
Uncommitted. 6-foot-1, 190-pound right-handed pitcher, projectable frame, broad shoulders, strong lower half, frame seems to look better every time we get eyes on him, just starting to fill out, more to come from Engert as he continues to mature. Arm works short and loose with whippy speed, gets out front to a low ¾ slot. Fastball sat 83-86 with run. Mixed in a 12/6 breaking ball that had depth and late bite, 66-69.


Hit After Hit Outlaws-Kirby

Jace Kirby, LHP Summit (TN), 2023
The 6-foot, 150-pound southpaw showcased a live, quick arm out of a low 3/4 slot.  Lean, athletic, high waisted frame w/ simple repeatable delivery.  FB worked 81-84 (Up from 78-81 in March) with some sink and arm side action.  Kirby mixed CH at 75-77 with fade and depth throwing to both righties and lefties.  Showed breaking ball in the past, so shapes up as solid 3-pitch mix for the young arm. 

Iron Horse

Gavin Harvey, RHP, Easley (SC), 2023
5-foot-8, 165 pounds. Works fast on the mound. Showed competitiveness against a tough Knights Platinum lineup. Challenged hitters with fastball at 80-82; worked both sides of the plate and was not afraid to use the inner-half and showed solid command. Full arm action from OT slot. 12/6 CB works well from slot at 66-69. Used off-speed to keep hitters on front-side. 


Knights 15U Platinum

Caleb Anderson, UTL/RHP, Franklin (TN), 2023
The 5-foot-9, 160-pound utilityman can be seen roaming all over the field for the Knights, logging time at 2B/SS/OF/P.  Tools to stick up the middle, while flashing 85 on the bump at end of May from right side.   Smooth left-handed stroke with advanced feel at the plate.  Drives the ball into the gaps, picking up extra base hits in bunches.  Moves well with good hands in the field.  

Miller Green, LHP/1B, Lipscomb Academy (TN), 2023
The 6-foot-5, 190-pound southpaw put together a stellar performance against the SWA Storm.  Tall, long frame w/ high-ceiling projection.  FB was consistent 84-85 (1740-1858rpm via Trackman) in the first few frames, using his long levers to get good extension towards the plate.  Good feel for the 12/6 breaking ball at 69-71 (2353-2552rpm via Trackman) with great depth.  Mixed a CH w/ slight arm side action and some depth.  With the high ceiling on the mound, the bat was impressive as well, picking up some thunderous extra base hits.  The number one uncommitted 2023 as the summer roars on.  

Jayden Davis, SS/RHP, Cookeville (TN), 2022
The 5-foot-10, 170-pound uncommitted two-way prospect put together another strong showing all weekend.  Medium, average build w/ limited projection, but a staple at the top of the order.  The Cookeville shortstop has a knack for barreling baseballs and picking up hits in bunches.  Gap-to-gap power with steady diet of hard liner singles.  Sure-handed and fundamentally sound with strong footwork.  On the mound, consistent upper 80s arm, topping at 91 the week prior (2466-2593 rpm) to go with CB in mid 70s (Nearly 2600 rpm).  Two-way at the top of the 22’ class is a must follow this summer. 

Knoxville Stars 15U


Braxton Roberts, RHP, Loudon (TN), 2022
5-foot-11, 150 pounds; slim frame that is untapped. Full, long arm swing. Ball comes out incredibly clean at 80-82. Jumped on hitters more than velocity would suggest. Showed tons of feel for SL at 71-73. Knows how to pitch and command the game. Interesting follow as physicality progresses.


Smartense Angels 15U - West

Hayden Grainger, 2022, INF, Cherokee (GA), 2022
5-foot-7, 150 pounds. Simple set-up/load at the plate. Hands work quiet. Up-and-down load. Barrel has slight uphill path. Gets the most out of frame and swings with aggression.
SWA Storm 15U

Camden Wimbish, RHP/C, West Stanly (NC), 2023
6-foot-2, 190 pounds; thick, mature build. Uses leg strength on the mound with drop-and-drive. Arm is quick and easy from an OT slot. Fastball showed sink and cut, at times; lived 83-84; carried velocity well. Two-way talent that is advanced behind the plate and has mature presence, offensively. 
Ethan Robinson RHP/1B, Donelson Christian (TN), 2023
The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Vandy Commit was impressive in his 55-pitch outing.  Long, lanky frame with great projection and showed good body control.  Quick arm working up to 3/4 slot.  FB had great ride through the zone at 88-92 early (1860-1943rpm via Trackman) w/ some late action.  Mixed 11/5 CB at 70-73 w/ proper shape and good bite.  Showed advanced hard CH at 85 with late fade action.  

Jordan Carter, 3B, Grace Christian Academy (TN), 2023
The 5-foot-11, 180-pound hot corner prospect continued to barrel the baseball all weekend.  Hit in the leadoff spot, but would look to do damage (while taking his walks).  Physical in the box w/ good strength and frame.  RHH, balanced, athletic stance with quick load.  Great  job getting the barrel in the zone for consistent hard contact.  Picked up extra base hits in bunches, while going long ball on day one to LF.  Flashed the leather at the hot corner, making a diving stop and good arm strength.  

Christian Lim, LHP, Montgomery Bell Academy (TN), 2023
The 5-foot-10, 155-pound southpaw pitched with an edge and set the tone for the Storm’s championship run.  Slim, lean frame w/ solid projection and quick arm working to 3/4 slot.  FB sat 80-83, Top 85 w/ good life while mixing a devastating 12/6 CB and CH w/ arm side action.  Showed feel for three pitch mix.  Generates a lot of swing and miss and can pick up strikeouts in bunches.  Another strong southpaw in the mix for 23’.  

Jackson Sleeper, RHP, Grace Christian Academy (TN), 2022
The 6-foot-3, 160-pound RHP has a tall, very projectable frame and put together a solid start vs a challenging Knights 15U Platinum in the semis. Leaned heavily on FB at 77-80 w/ plenty more in the tank.  Worked into some tough situations, but able to minimize and pick up some big time outs.
