PBR Spotlight Game: Bedford HS and Oregon Clay Split Doubleheader

Bedford HS (MI) and Oregon Clay HS (OH) split a doubleheader on Saturday (03/30) at John Ousky Field in Oregon, Ohio. Clay winning the first game 2-0 and Bedford the second game 8-6 with several scouts in attendance. 

In the first game Oregon Clay pitcher and Central Michigan commit Jordan Grosjean (2013) went five innings, only allowing two hits and striking out eight for the win. Senior Lucas Robson (2013) finished out the game going two innings for the save.  Sophomore Ryan Fournier drove in Jay Smith (2014) in the fifth inning for the game-winning RBI. For Bedford, Josh Strickland, a senior, took the loss despite only allowing two hits and two unearned runs. No. 1 Jackson Lamb also made his 2013 debut.  Lamb pitched the first two innings for Bedford and was not sharp, walking 3 hitters and hitting one, while striking out three. He did, however, collaborate with catcher Josh Rozek on an throwing out a Clay runner at the plate from centerfield. Siena Heights commit Kyle Kuhr (2013) had a one out triple to right-center for Bedford's only extra base hit. 

In game two Kevin Mugler (2014) got the win for Bedford in relief of Logan Snyder (2013).  Kuhr  threw the last three innings for the save and put Bedford ahead with a two-out, two RBI double to left in the fourth inning. Lamb had two singles and two RBI.  Four Clay pitchers combined for twelve walks and two hit batters - Ryan Fournier (2015) got the loss. Despite shutting out Bedford in Game 1, four Clay pitchers combined for twelve walks and two hit batters in game two, evenutally leading to a 8-6 loss.

Bedford is now 2-1 on the year and Oregon Clay is 1-1.
