Deer Lakes (12-8) used a strong outing on the mound by Adam Fredley to win a first round WPIAL Class AA playoff game today at Pullman Park in Butler.  Fredley went 5.1 innings allowing four runs and two walks. He struck out five Freedom hitters and was relieved by Joe Hoffman who picked up the save.  Fredley went two-for-three at the plate with two RBI to help his own cause.  Kevin Beggley led Deer Lakes offensively going two-for-three with a double and three RBI.

Freedom pitcher Nick Schwab picked up the loss.  The 5-foot-11, 170 pound junior struck out six Deer Lakes batters in the game. Senior designated hitter Conner Yarzebinski led Freedom offensively going two-for-four with two doubles and two RBI.

Deer Lakes advances to tomorrows Class AA quarterfinals where they will play Riverside at 4:30pm at Chippewa Park.  Freedom's season comes to an end with a record of 12-9.
