PBR Spotlight Game: Holt vs Grand Ledge

#11 Grand Ledge took on Holt for the Division 1 district 10 championship. Both teams won their semifinal games earlier in the day and had their eyes on the title.

2018 Burrell Jones hurled for Holt and 2016 Jacob Songer threw for Grand Ledge. Both pitched solid games with Jones going 5 innings and Songer throwing 6.

Grand Ledge scored the game’s first run in the 5th inning 2015 Kalamazoo Valley CC commit Jake Ellis hit an RBI double taking a 1-0 lead.

Grand Ledge took their lead into the bottom of the 7th and brought in their ace 2015 Wayne State commit Tyler Waldrop to close the game.

Unsigned senior’s Stephen Luding and Scott Sarata both reached on free passes to start the 7th inning. Luding was later picked off on a deceptive inside move by Waldrop to 2nd.

Unsigned senior Nick Taylor reached on an infield error followed by a walk to 2017 Drake Soblesky loading the bases. Unsigned senior Nick Brown walked as well scoring Sarata. Holt scored the game winning run on a curve ball in that skipped away from the catcher.

Holt won the Division 1 District 10 Championship 2-1 and will play in the Division 1 Regional 3 on June 6th.
