PBR Spotlight Game: Ontario Yankees 18u vs Ontario A's 18u

PICKERING – Sunday morning saw the home team Ontario Yankees take on the Ontario Athletics at Kirkey Park. The game ended in a tie, with the Yankees coming back in the latter innings to draw the 4-4 result.

The Athletics got on the board early, with a run in the 1st inning.

They would score again twice in the 3rd after a double that sailed onto the left field warning track, hit by Jonathan Mele.

In the 5th inning, the team would score once again with an RBI from pitcher Blake Balanoff.

On the defensive side, Balanoff carried a no hitter into the fifth inning before the bid was broken up by a line drive into right field by 3B Malik James of the Yankees. James would later score, putting the Yankees on the board. The Yankees would rally in the 6th with James hitting a triple into the right-centre gap, scoring two. He would also score after an error by the second basemen.

Both teams battled and had some timely hitting while pitchers from both sides did a great job limiting the bats and working themselves out of jams.
